Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

I am not saying pj and BK are argumentative, but I am saying they have found their happy place.

I dropped a couple of my page long rants in there Sunday defending CJH and the team but quickly tired of it. Cant have a rational conversation with an irrational person....its like arguing with your wife. You cant actually win.. because they are playing an entirely different game than you and have no rules or conscience. Best to just ignore them IMO. It does suck as a fanbase though when they throw public tantrums. Firing CJH shouldnt even be whispered in dark corners, much less publicly called for by morans. AP and Hubbs have both made comments since Saturday. AP literally word for word told people calling for CJH job to "grow up". It was funny.

I think next year could be a really good year

This year was always going to be iffy. It got more so when we lost some key defensive players to injury. Next year has more potential except we won't have an experienced QB, and that is always a recipe for disaster. Too bad the defense hasn't done better so the backup QBs got some real time on the field.

I've read a few articles claiming the tackling problems were related to lack of real contact in practice which is in turn related to depth issues and needing to keep the remaining acceptable players healthy. With NIL and the portal, that's likely to be an ongoing problem for us as well as many other teams. Good teams need roster continuity - players can't be "coached up" if they aren't around to be part of the system.

Just my search history and saved links...none of which I ever intentionally saved. So weird. I hate bullcrap like this...this is from Samsung (just like Apple) sending updates and changing stuff that never needed to be changed. I am over it though and really dont care anymore. I will get a new phone in the next few days and try to figure it out then. Chrome is definitely my internet browser though. Maybe i chose that over Samsung internet when i first got the phone...maybe not and it just came that way. It was a big dogs lifespan ago, and I dont remember. Which Galaxy do you have? They will probably only have deals on the newest model since thats what most people want. I am sure I would be perfectly happy with one 5 models old...
I don't know then. You should have a function where all your browsers are displayed and you can close selected ones or close all.

No idea how to get you to that. Last resort is to search how to on your phone or on the internet.

Mine doesnt have the same icons bro its too old i guess. No big deal. Bout to get a galaxy from the 2020s (lmao) and it will likely match yours. Thanks for the help McD. Its not you obviously thats an issue...its my ancient phone and my lack of phone knowledge. Appreciate you bud. Heres what my google screen looks like

And that's why I dislike Samsung. The wife is always managing to do something weird with her Samsung, and I have to spend inordinate amounts of time figuring out Samsungese just to diagnose and fix the problem. The phones are fine if they would just leave Android alone and quit twisting and adding stuff - the very reason I'm going to stay with Pixels. Motorola did weird stuff, too, and never worked right with my hearing aids; that's all good with the new phone.

That would probably open a new tab of worms. The browser tab issue on phones looks to be a rabbit hole filled with alternate reality - especially if don't have clear means to know how many open tabs exist.

Every Samsung I've had, ...it's been my only phone since going 'smart' from 'flip...' has a tab manager where tabs are stored.

"Changing the operating system every few months" is just describing an update.

It is funny. No need to get chuffed about it.
The majority of these updates seem to be largely cosmetic. I'm not a fan of that. But they'll also just change random crap from time to time. Then, they also sometimes break features that have worked flawlessly for the last 10-15 years. I just want my cell phone to come off the shelf working properly without having to customize it. Then, I only want real updates to fix real problems like security issues. Don't give me cosmetic changes, random crap and screw ups to break stuff that previously worked.

That's understandable but unfortunately the security stuff is why they're so frequent and necessary.

The majority of iOS updates are security patches and fixes to flaws. The cosmetic stuff is held off until then.

This is true and fair. Especially since the updates arent optional in many cases which is BS.

Nobody would buy say a Frigidaire refrigerator if every couple months a service man came by unnanounced whenever HE felt like it....entered into a personal device that YOU OWN free and clear...and rearranged all the shelves inside the fridge the way HE thought it should look. With of course the new arrangements making some things NOT fit anymore like a gallon of milk, so it just gets left out to spoil (not work anymore).

Literally nobody would tolerate that. Nobody.

Yet our $1000 and up phones actually cost MORE than a fridge and they do just that. Send mandatory updates that sometimes make things look completely different and move things you have saved to places you cannot find them or are no longer convenient for you...as well as sometimes causing things on your phone to not work anymore.

Nobody would put up with that BS on any other appliance they own...but they do on phones bc we have no choice. Other than a security update to stop a new virus/hack there should be much more specific knowledge given about ANY changes an update was gonna make to your phone and a CHOICE whether or not you want to "fix" a bunch of stuff that was never broken.

Its ridiculous and we shouldn't put up with it. Its bad enough that they added these SIRI types so that now your phone is ALWAYS listening to its surroundings in case you mutter "hey Siri" OR someone like the gov. Wants to spy on you. Your camera is always on too and can be used without your knowledge to look at your face and target ads to say "middle aged white man". Its complete BS and an invasion of privacy. I would never discuss anything illegal or clandestine within earshot of a smartphone. Theres a reason the NSA employs more people than the CIA and FBI combined. I am not fearlful of any of that crap because i am a boring nearly 50yo dude who doesnt do much of anything outside church, work, and family. I still deeply resent the constant loss of our privacy and the bullcrap they put on our phones to alter them from the condition when we bought them.
