UT is already out of the running for the playoff, but still wanted to post the full list since they still made the committee's initial rankings (the only 3-loss team in them!):

They're really pushing down Georgia Tech for a 1-loss team.

Wonder if it has anything to do with this?

"The ACC said Saturday night that officials missed a pivotal offside call that allowed No. 16 Georgia Tech to eventually overcome Wake Forest 30-29 in overtime in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

With the Yellow Jackets holding no timeouts and the Demon Deacons with the lead and working on the clock late in regulation, Wake Forest quarterback Robby Ashford threw a free-play deep ball on third-and-5 after a Georgia Tech player appeared to leap well offside.

But officials didn't throw a flag, sparking an irate reaction from the Wake Forest sideline and boos cascading from the stands.

The penalty would have been a 5-yarder and likely moved the chains, putting Wake Forest in position to potentially kneel out the clock. Instead, the Yellow Jackets got the ball back with 1:41 left, marched down the field and saw kicker Aidan Birr convert a 33-yard field goal with 2 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime."

Record Jump
The biggest single-week jump within the AP Poll was achieved by TCU in the 2014 season. After defeating Oklahoma, they climbed 16 spots, moving from No. 25 to No. 9 in the poll dated October 5, 2014.
Let’s gooo!!

I think if Vandy wins out up to our game and we win out, we might finish 14th. Think 11th is totally out of the picture and deservedly so.

We had our chances. Didn’t hit them.

Also got horribly unlucky with our two greatest injuries coming at the same position.

We weren’t good enough and we were also unlucky. Might survive one of those factors. Couldn’t survive both.

Notice the 4 SEC teams with one or zero conference losses perch comfortably up at the top of the rankings.

And then there’s 2-loss OU. Out currently, but could get some help to back their way in.

The real playoff contenders are the one that lead the SEC. 10 wins dont mean ****. Didn't last year, and dont this year.
Win your league, or be close to winning your league. The playoff will take care of itself.

And, if you're not capable of winning your league (ie beating the teams that can win your league) then your sorry ass doesn't belong in a championship playoff.

I could see us jumping Vandy and maybe o.e or two of the ACC teams if we win out.
Would put us around 15.
You're either one of 5 conference champions, or one the highest ranked 7 remaining at large teams. The SEC & B1G title games losers are likely to be garaunteed a spot again. So that's takes it down to the next 5 highest ranked remaining teams will get in.

Yep - even when we win out and beat Vandy (who could be close to Top 10 at the time), I just don't see us jumping enough teams to make into that "next 5" without some help.
Other teams ahead of us with 2 losses would have to have another loss that shouldn't happen, like U of L, VA, Texas (they'll get beat by aTm but likely won't drop below us...so they would need 4), Oklahoma...all of that may get us into that "next 5".

IF that does happen, that means we likely go on the road in the 1st round to either Athens or Oxford...not sure I like our chances at either, but it would be nice to find out.

Doesn’t matter. Blowing 2 (probably 3) extremely winnable games doesn’t get you any style points.
Didnt say it did. It’s been a very frustrating season knowing what could’ve been and that we should still have something to play for. No way OU should’ve won the other night.

Not exactly because a G5 team is guaranteed to make it.
