New York City

Inflation will never be 0%

No, but after years of it running so high (I personally think the current numbers are very much mistaken and skewed low) getting it to 2 percent even if you claimed you had isn't matching reality on the ground.

About the only thing markedly down is gas. But rent, food, travel. Health insurance, clothing. And on and on, seem to go up every week

Clothing is priced based on what you choose to wear... you can buy business casual button ups for $19 a piece or $199 each.
Food, I agree with you completely.
Health Care is bad; but I don't know the answer to solving that problem unless it's based on the individual.
Rent is approaching modest starter home mortgage payments; but it's been increasing steadily for a while now. Buying a home is your only protection.
What about vehicle prices, that's what is crazy. My 64k truck just cost me $15k in replacing a Trans & Engine at 93k miles. That same truck I purchased for $49ish after rebates, is now approx mid 60s Out the Door. I hope these car manufactures go under.

If nothing else each election cycle featuring highly contested races the meltdowns and memes are always pretty good, those you agree and disagree with. It's all good for entertainment

I think Mamdani is silly on economics, but as all these people on the left move up the ranks, they become more moderate on that stuff.

Instead of viewing this race as a statement on socialism, I look at as a rejection of a status quo DNC that backed Israel and grew ICE. Hopefully that **** is over and the left is better for it.

Well your party broke health insurance. It was already screwed and you all decided to go all in. Its why your holding out for subsidies.

Slowing pace: The annual pace of rent inflation has slowed to 3.7% as of September 2025, the slowest since December 2021.

Clothing inflation in 2025 saw a moderate increase, with some forecasts predicting a year-over-year rise of around 0.5% to 1.5%. However, apparel spending has decreased, likely due to consumers facing higher prices for essential goods and cutting back on discretionary spending like clothing.

Food inflation in 2025 has been trending higher than earlier projections, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting a 3.1% year-over-year increase in food prices as of September 2025.

Trumps problem isn't where inflation is at. Its that he is inacapable of being honest about it. He should be saying “Yep here we are. Damn site better then where we were.”

Which is true. And he gets to keep the quiet part quiet. Which is he had aarge hand in the inflation under Biden. Same fault Biden had. But Biden was doing it while inflation was pushing 20% over 4 years

I don’t disagree but at this point politically the problem is that its cumulative. Its not just an annual rate of inflation in a single year. Its the past 5 to 6 years and how disheartening it is to people that politicians are telling them to celebrate that this year its only 3 percent (tacked on to years of 4 to 8 percent).

That's just not going to be good enough and until we have a sustained period of lowering prices people just don't feel any better about it.

funny..We were told it was transitive.

What's going on in Kentucky

The perfect example of why we are stupid. People calling wanting to vote for a candidate who only has a letter by their name. They know nothing of them. Oops. Perfectly captures this country today.”I got to go vote because the other party is evil.”

They’ve been running ads for next year’s senate primaries for the past three months. Since most people in Kentucky won’t be attending Mensa meetings anytime in the near future, they probably got confused.

So because of leftist political control in NYC not delivering the desired results the answer is moving further left?

Wondering what issues moved the needle for New Yorkers the most. Maybe my interpretation above is misguided.

Because we spend too much time teaching stupid ish instead of civics. A high schooler should not be able to walk down the isle without a basic understanding of how government works, the branches roles and where the fit in.

We have failed generations.

It probably started with an “F” and ends with an “E.”
