Why tank the rest of the season when a 9-3 finish is possible...we're not winning vs Florida or Vandy with Mac at Qb if Heupel makes the swap and we lose those games by alot y'all will be the same people ready to fire him...y'all are acting like Joey is trash...![]()
Next year will be another rebuilding year with breaking in a new QB. Would be good to see some preparation for next year. This season has turned out to be a stinker, with us only beating barely the worst of the SEC and losing to any decent team we face
You owe it to the team you have to play the best players you have now. You never “play for the future” in college football. You don’t get an extra 5 star recruit by tanking.
NEGAVOLS???
YOU suggested giving up on the season. Because well there's really nothing to play for. GTFOH
Then when we lose at Florida and against Vandy - you and the others who think this is a good idea would be the first to complain that we lost because we played GM and shift to the fire all the coaches because they were stupid enough to play the backup.
And you do realize that would send a message to any future QB at Tennessee - once the playoff dream is over, so is your time to play. If I am in the portal - I am not considering Tennessee.
I'm not giving up on anything. I'm taking a realistic and objective stance that there is nothing of value to play for over the final 3 games of significance that can keep Heupel from having warming seat next year if things get shaky.
However if we are going to start playing the future here in multiple positions, might as well do it with the QB's who could very well be here.
And the one thing no wants to admit is they think that Josh Heupel is incapable of a highly touted 4/5 star QB room getting ready to start with 3 weeks of practice time and a CUSA opponent.
Like the reaction is "you are giving up by doing this".... Why do you guys think we stand no chance to win? The only answer is you think Heupel is incapable of getting a QB room made up of highly recruited guys ready to play with 3 weeks lead time.
So yes, you are a NEGAVOL. Just admit it.
Your words not mine..
Saying there is nothing of significance for 9-3 is not giving up.
Playing for the future is not giving up.
A coach who could have a warm seat next year needs to do everything possible to ensure the team is ready to roll in week 1 is not giving up.
This isn’t hard to understand.
Seems to me that you risk losing the locker room, the culture and providing lighter fluid for negative recruiting.Saying there is nothing of significance for 9-3 is not giving up.

Only a troll would think JH is on the hot seat. The bet still stands if JH starts Merk or Mac in any of these games (outside of injuries) I will stop posting on here. If you believed your drivel you would take the bet.

It also almost never happens. It’s mostly fan fantasy unless the season falls off a cliff.
Once again you struggle with reading comprehension. No one said Hype’s seat is hot.
If we are 6-3 or similar record at this time a year from now with shaky QB play, Heupel’s seat will be warm. If only there was a way to completely avoid that situation.
i can get the crayons out to spell it out for you if that would work better
There is no writing utensil that can coherently convey the stupid of starting a freshman in any of the remaining games this season. You started a whole different thread about Florida and Vandy meaning something... Nathan Peterman says hello

You literally did! No way you are a real Vols fan. Let's see...Once again you struggle with reading comprehension. No one said Hype’s seat is hot.

A 3 loss team isn't contending for a national title bud. Tennessee has zero shot at making the playoff nor should anyone expect that. The first team out of the playoffs last year was 9-3. While very small, there is still a chance if Tennessee wins out, they can make the playoffs. Throwing in the towel so a true freshman can get reps for next year is a terrible idea and how apathy sets in a program.

I need @LegionnaireOfTheMiserable's opinion. A troll, or no?
Nate Peterman has zero to do with this conversation nor has any relevancy. Apparently you will try to deflect and dance your way around admitting you don't think Heupel is capable of getting a 4 or 5 star QB prepared to start with 3 weeks of practice and a game against a 3 win CUSA team.
Just say it. I'm not sure why you are hating on Heupel.
I'm not sure you are saying what you think you are saying.
First you don't listen to people around the program who are all but saying Merk is as sure as in the January Portal as Blew Carter. So auditioning him for another team is not going to happen. So if that is not going to happen you double down on your insanity by saying that we should start Mac. The last time a backup got their start against Florida in the swamp was Peterman and that failed miserable. Hopefully I have crayoned that well enough for you to see the similarities meaning my Peterman analogy is spot on.
It's difficult to be this good but it's the cross I bear. Smart man once told me Don't apologize for being great.
