Four things I noticed right away tonight

1) we don't live up to our size, felt like they bodied our guys inside pretty well when they were on offense. I'm afraid we're going to get pushed around inside when we get to conference play.

2) point guard play and turnovers. Gillespie is a better scoring point but he doesn't command the offense as well as Zig.

3) offensive rebounds, we are giving way too many up, this is somewhat related to point number 1.

4) this team gets lazy and doesn't outwork the opponents like we saw last year.

All still very early and each of these items is fixable. I'm most worried about number 1, I think the other things work themselves out as players learn each other.

Does anyone else wonder why in the last minutes of a tight bball game when the losing team is fouling (intentionally) to make the other team shoot FTs… why that is not called an intentional foul when that is clearly what they are doing?

We gave up 13 offensive rebounds and secured 38 defensive rebounds. Which game did you watch?

Calling this entire team lazy after Game 1 against Mercer... bold take.

Except that's not what I said, I said they get lazy, stop working, as evidenced by their three or four scoring droughts that kept Mercer somewhat in the game and kept them from extending the lead.

They gave up way too many offensive rebounds to undersized players underneath. I didn't complain about defensive rebounding obviously.

I was watching the game that was my first love as a kid and was taught to me by a former college player, my father.

I wasn’t impressed with Ament tonight. He played timid at times, and when he did drive he missed several finishes. Given the talk about him I had high expectations, but he’s got some work to do. I really liked Dewayne Brown. Didn’t play like a freshman.

all businesses are hell bent on profit.
Not necessarily. Some businesses exist just to pay their employees. Once a "business" goes public though, the most important thing is constant profit growth. It's really self-defeating because it usually destroys what made a company successful to begin with. Look at Twitter for an example. When it started, it was possible to build communities on there and not have to worry about 75% of tweets being from dishonest brokers simply seeking engagement or paid to misinform.

Twitter is a propaganda machine propped up by bots these days. It’s terrible to navigate.
