I think Beale is going to Arkansas.

Also 4 more DL is a lot. But I’d like Thomas, Whitley, and Quinn.

Literally millions of dollars if he gets hurt playing meaningless high school football when he would likely be our starter THIS season were he on the team.
Not sure how much money you think college players are actually getting. David will get strong NIL regardless. Should he not play college ball in his last year bc he risks getting hurt at a lower level than the NFL...

1. He won’t get “strong NIL” regardless if he suffers a major injury in high school.

2. He could also a) start earning NIL earlier and b) start his NFL clock a year earlier if he reclassified.

Are you asking me if I think he should leave for the NFL as soon as he can (post junior season) because he risks getting hurt in college? Because yes, absolutely he should. Do you disagree?

1.) So all top prospects should just sit out of high school now bc they COULD get hurt??
2.) He is allowed to make NIL right now and has a partnership with Phenom Elite I'm pretty sure.

My point on the last part was should he skip playing his draft year bc he could get hurt there or does playing for Tennessee make it the exception to skipping seasons bc you could get hurt and there is more money on the way soon...

Reclassifying for anyone has rarely been productive and David is still cleaning things up and polishing his game as does any teenage football player. There's no point to rush someone along just to fill a need. He's getting a lot better with pass pro and potential screen ability with the staff at Baylor, just let the kid develop naturally lol

We’ll have to agree to disagree here

Selfishly, it would potentially be good for UT if he reclassifies.

From this kids life perspective, money isn’t everything. You only get to experience growing up, high school and all that goes along with it one time. I wouldn’t be in a rush to grow up.

I couldn’t wait to leave high school, lol.

Wiltfong's updates today illustrate, IMO, how important it is we close strong on the field these last two weeks. According to his updates and reading tea leaves elsewhere, we are for sure right up at the top if not outright leading for the following:

OL Micah Smith
SDE/Edge Jordan Carter
IDL Jaylen Thomas
IDL JJ Finch (Bama commit who OV'd here and came for OU game - then visiting Bama the week after but notably has not shut it down)
RB Amari Latimer

There's also Carter Gooden who may be OV'ing next weekend along with Thomas.

Smith, Carter, Finch and Latimer are prospects are all being pursued by or were/are previously committed some combo of OSU, A&M, and Alabama. G covets Thomas, who IMO is an instant IDL rotational player at worst and also means we have to pursue one fewer portal IDL. Similarly, Latimer would mean you don't need a portal RB, either.

Landing that group would also put us at the #5 overall class (same in last year's cycle), which would easily be Heupel's best and illustrate a continued upward trajectory in terms of his and his staff's recruiting.

Not saying we have to finish 9-3 to land these guys, or that doing so will guarantee we do land them. But it clearly would help - who knows if you can get 1 or more of them back for the Vandy game if we're 8-3 fresh off a win in the Swamp.

All that to say, in terms of momentum, IMO winning out is huge. Starts this Saturday in a matchup that easily has the biggest positive gap between team quality - not to mention motivation - of any UT-UF game in the Swamp since even before we last won there in 2003.
