Apathy

Just enjoy the ride this year. This is not a playoff caliber team. If by chance we made the playoffs, we’d likely be blown out. At this point just hoping we can find a way to finally win in Gainesville and then play spoiler to Vandy.

Sure - but I would always rather be clobbered in the ring than never to be let in.

Yes, skinning the gators and curb stomping Vandy would go a long way toward making the fan base a bit happier I suspect.

How many of you remember when apathy set into the entire program? Are we headed back in that direction?
I see a team that is regressing. Heupel would do well to actually study the maxims. Fewest mistakes? Nope. Keeping on steam? Nope.

We didn’t lose receivers that mattered. Our offensive line gave up 30 sacks last year. Thru 9 games, we have given up 9 so using the offensive line changes make zero sense.

People swear we improved the QB position.

We let the safeties walk instead of just making what was would have been perceived as overpaying for continuity.

While we lost Sampson, our committee of running backs have done just fine.

The only issue that we couldn’t control was the corner injuries.

This year was very much a self imposed step back as of now if we were to finish 9-3.

There’s no step back

This isn't the college football we grew up with. Just going 8-4 or 9-3 and making a bowl is not a good season anymore. If you are traditionally a top 15-20 program, the new water mark is making the playoffs. To me, its now equal to college basketball, if you don't make the tournament, its not a successful season. That was a very winnable game last night, as the rest of the season will be. Big lost opportunity last night with an amped up crowd and atmosphere. Just the way it is.
We are headed to some participation trophy bowl with opt outs and portal transfers.

Basketball is just a few days away!!!

I’m pissed and frustrated but it will wear off and optimism will return. AD is in much better shape than it has been in several years. I think Heupel will get it right but if he doesn’t I trust White to make another hire. I think Heupel’s main issue is he has over achieved here early. When Pruitt left and the ncas came down on us you couldn’t imagine this quick a turn around, or even imagine anyone taking Saban down. Heupel’s record and resume is pretty damn impressive in comparison to several guys out there.

Shoot, I remember it being that way in the middle 2000’s. Remember, the coaches during that time didn’t all of a sudden forget how to coach.
Early 2000’s

I don’t think Randy Sanders had a clue from the get go.

Fulmer was so paranoid, (after Johnny) that he refused to hire the best couches.

Fulmer era revisited. I say yes; based on my communications with other fans. Words like "I've Had It". Some Vol fans actually think that Bama, Uga, A&M Texas, ect, DESERVE to be better than UT! Otherwise, they wouldn't keep apologizing for the product we saw Saturday Night. When I can't stand to watch a Josh presser, or watch ANY football replays, I call that apathy, smothered in anger.

So you’re
That’s one of the most ignorant statements I’ve read. 9-3 is a solid season for any SEC team not named Georgia or Alabama right now.
So you’re good with losing to bama, Georgia and Florida every year. That’s what 9-3 usually looks like

No but some changes need to be made to step forward as a program. I'm glad we aren't getting blown out like a highschool team but we need to stop making stupid plays at the wrong time.

We still have the ability to be a 10 win program. It’s hasn’t been long since we had to look up to see the bottom.

Double up on your meds.

Nah, program will recover from one loss or potentially two more before the season is over. The constant hike in ticket prices for a program that seems to never quite reach elite status is what should piss people off.
