You don't have to stop doing fun things because you lost a game.

We lost three of the first four Checker Neyland games and it's still a great tradition.
I just think we’re too “cute”. I just don’t think we need gimmicks to get up for a game and take ANY focus away from what’s at stake. I sat in the stands two years ago and almost watched Austin Peay beat us with another gimmicky uniform.

If our players need hype to get up for a big game, I think it’s a problem. There’s this team down in Tuscaloosa that wears a hundred year old uniform that doesn’t seem to have a problem with focus when it comes to beating the piss out of 99% their opponents for the last 18 years.

But…i respect everyone’s opinion on here. I just wanted to see if people are tired of the “modes”

I don't think the uniforms were the problem last night.

That was a failure on multiple levels of coaching and involving every phase of the game.

I haven't been that pissed leaving Neyland in several years.
Yes, the uniforms are the problem. This program is more concerned about gimmicks and sensationalism than championship football.

People were more about our Dark Mode than how we would perform on the field all last week.

What was the excuse when we committed nonsense penalties, dropped balls, threw inexcusable interceptions, couldn't tackle, and got pushed around in the other games?

The fact that we dominated them in the 1st half - we had 255 yards to their 99 yard - but was losing 16-10 turned my stomach. We find creative ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

If players love it then I’m for it..

Things like Dark Mode and Check Neyland are fun experiences. It’s for the fans. Unis don’t win/lose games. We made more mistakes and it cost us. Just how it goes.

The Oklahoma board said we embarrassed ourselves with all the gimmickry and still lost. They are right. One thing's for sure. The fans are putting more into it than they are getting out of it. Pitiful.

If Tennessee played up to the effort of its fans, we would have had 4 or 5 National Titles the last 20 years, instead pur program is a joke.

They need to love making tackles. They need to love not dropping balls. They need to love not committing penalties. Alternate Uniforms do not make recruits decide to come to Tennessee. It’s money now.
Alternate uniforms don’t make them miss tackles, drop balls, or commit penalties either. We do that plenty in orange too.

Glad to see that we have some VN'ers on here with some common sense. I PREFER the orange and white too, but It's the players who go out and sweat through practices, shoulder class loads of studying, put up with fans whining, and may or probably not make it as pros. So, I shut up and hope there's pride in those jerseys, whatever color our boys wear in games.
Good to see you posting again Woodsman. Have missed your frequent witticisms of wisdom.
