We're still building talent due to scholarship limitations, and yet we've been consistently playing either at or above our talent level. Will explain later on the podcast, but I think right now the current iteration of this program has hit its ceiling. Getting this to a consistent top 15-25 program was much needed and with how good Heupel is at playcalling, as long as his O-Line is serviceable, I don't ever see the program with him cratering. Now, things can change. If Faizon is a #1 overall type talent at QB, if they tweak their roster strategy to focus on the transfer portal more than projects, if they replace a couple defensive coaches. All those things are not impossible to envision. But just like he did with his offense, I think Josh has to tweak some stuff this offseason to get this to a consistent playoff program.
I have thought for a long time that our fanbase doesn't have many bandwagon fans, but maybe I'm wrong about that. Nobody reasonable is saying this, but they amount of people who seem to want Heupel on the hot seat is amazing to me. Did we really pick up that many new fans in 2022?We're still building talent due to scholarship limitations, and we've been consistently playing either at or above our talent level.
That's what people don't seem get. This is a team that has consistently been outside the top 10 in overall talent. And yet we've consistently been a top 20 team since the end of 2021, with a couple seasons of being a top 10 team. The next 2 recruiting cycles are big for us, and so far it seems like we are taking that next step in recruiting to get us on par with the elite teams of the country.

Man I’m just not sure we will be with the time management/discipline issues paired with the road woes. Will explain later on the podcast, but I think right now the current iteration of this program has hit its ceiling. There were definitely more centers of power in the game in those days. The Big Ten was probably the single best conference on a year-in, year-out basis. The Big 12 was good. In the early 2000s Southern Cal was great.Back then SEC relevance consisted of just us and Florida, and sometimes Bama. Way different now
No mention of Ozzie which is interesting
