So only poor vets should get care from the VA for injuries sustained during military service? Trying to follow the logic here on how my income should dictate what care I receive. Getting "Not paying my fair share" Obama vibes here.

Veteran income does impact healthcare eligibility as does service history and military disability. Generally speaking if you have a honorable discharge you'll get treatment.

Fetterman said, “Well I mean, for me, fundamentally, I’m deeply, deeply distressing to know that 42 million Americans are going to lose their SNAP benefits. And now that’s one of the big reasons why I refuse to shutting our government down. And again, I feel like the Democrats really need to own the shutdown. I mean, we’re shutting it down. I know why they claim, because they want to address the tax credits, and I fully support that. I voted for all of their CRs, our CRs, every single time. And I refuse to put 42 million Americans in the kinds of food insecurity. Now, this is all all solved by just reopen our government and the people are now paid.”

He added, “This is an absolute fail. It is actually embarrassing honesty if we can’t even keep the lights on.”

You complained VA PT is further delayed after already waiting 6 months. Correct?

I'll clarify. When you move to a new VA provider you go through everything again. Physical, eye and dental if you qualify, and they treat you for any ailments. I have a torn rotatorcuff injury from Iraq that the USAF never treated correctly. I used my private Healthcare to treat it. The VA always makes me go through PT when I go to a new hospital. My appointment was canceled. No biggie. That got me thinking about all the people who use VA as their sole source of Healthcare who are getting hosed because there is no readership in the legislative part of our government.

I was looking forward to hanging out in downtown DC. The shutdown dashed those hopes and dreams. Now I have to spend the day with my girlfriend. She mentioned getting a facial but I don't think we're on the same page on that..

You weren't complaining for yourself but for all the downtrodden poors who work in government unable to complain for themselves.

But that's just a gimmick. Part of governance is compromise. Neither side is willing to do it. Compromise starts Wed I think. Elections are done and Trump breaks his first record to enshrined himself in history.

What should the Dems offer the Republicans in exchange for getting them to go along with the Obamacare subsidies? The only thing I can think of is to codify some of Trump's EOs into law. You got any ideas?

Give em the subsidies. Makes Republicans look like humans with basic emotions and gives the dems their Obama legacy a little while longer. They'll drop the Ugandan AIDS Summer Camp for Trans Albinos nonsense.

See how easy that was? Just solved a shutdown in 4 minutes that elected officials couldnt do in 35 days.
