Go look at our recruiting page.

We have the top quarterback

Two of the top five receivers , including the number one wide receiver

Two of the top five linebackers (We haven't had guys this highly rated since Hank T)
All committed

We haven't had dudes like this in forever, our glaring weakness is the secondary.

Tim Banks and Willie need to be gone without a doubt. I'm with y'all on that.

We have adapted offensively, adding in more pro elements which led to the most points we've scored against Georgia by a long shot. It is the defense that must improve .

If drastic changes aren't made this offseason, I'll probably be out on him as a championship coach like a lot of you.

On the recruiting note: He won't play them in year 1, so does it really matter what our freshman class looks like next year?

On the assistants note: He is responsible for every piece of the pie. Huepel hasn't shown any signs of making changes in the past. Why should we expect anything different?

I'm on board with keeping him next year, but it's playoffs or move on.

I actually agree with all of this. I'm not wanting to fire Heupel, but I do want him to make some changes to the defense staff as you suggested. It needs to be done.

Inge over BJM has been HUGE for recruiting .
We've played some perlotte this year and started Sanders. If players are good enough, they start.

He hasn't fired anyone but may have suggested people leave Like former RB coach and ekler. It's conjecture at this point but he didn't fight to keep them

This upcoming class is what they need about 3 or 4 cycles of to be where all the fans want us to be. I think we've been averaging around 12 or 13th for the past few years? That's enough for very good but not elite.
Agree. We had a huge bump at the linebacker recruiting spot, now, we need to get Willie out of there and get some good secondary players

Inge is a perfect example of not playing the most talented players. Keeps trotting Telander out there because "he gets lined up correctly"

And I say, go look at our team this year. Plenty of talent on both sides of the field but once again, we are a doormat of the SEC. Not convinced at all that if the incoming class even makes it to Knoxville, that they will be our savior. You have to know how to coach good talent, and that is the by far over looming issue that faces this coaching staff. We had Nico - but he left. And so on, and so on.

TN has been competitive while playing the long game in NIL. I wish I could say I’m comfortable with it, but the cost is getting a little too steep to be as supportive as I’m accustomed to.

When do we start to pull away from LSU, Florida, and Penn State, who have spent more? Isn’t that the long game? To get ahead of some programs and close the gap on others?

I saw Danny White tweet that we have a top 3 revenue generation. I wish I knew when all of that was going to come to fruition for football.

Josh is fine. We either have people that can't remember the last decade before him or shouldn't be allowed to post after drinking.

Things that need fixed.

The interceptions against OK are on the offensive line. You have to give the QB, no matter who that may be, time to look through recievers which they didn't do. They also can't open holes for the run game to open up the passing game.

Considering our injuries at DB, I'm not sure Martinez is the problem. Redmond is going to be really good getting so much playing time early. Colton Hood has played unreal as a transfer in.

Tim Banks does seem to be a liability. You can't allow a QB to take off and run like Mateer did at times. We did pretty good holding OK to minimal yards the first half until this happened.

Boo obviously has some sort of a problem. Him catching a punt 5 yards from the left sideline and heading that way to just run out of bounds isn't a good look. You have 50 yards the other direction, go that way. He has checked out and for that, he needs to sit.

Back to Josh.

He always says, we are a run first team but the last few games we have come out throwing it. Again, the OL isn't where it needs to be but I want to see better plays. If everyone in the stadium knows you're about to run it, throw a screen, throw a slant.

Throwing to a freshman TE on a 4th and short wasn't a good decision.

He needs to recruit at a much higher level. Obviously recruiters have basically been replaced with accountants so do what it takes to get the players here to fill the holes in need. He needs to raid the portal strong this off season.

With the ticket pricing being what they are now, you can't put a product on the field like what we saw on Saturday night.

See, what you are not considering is that anytime we lose, Heupel and staff are not the guys, we should never lose, we should be beating everybody, my feelings are hurt, and my wife called CFP "Real Housewives" for men.

I agree. I'm not sold on Inge being an upgrade in the coaching dept. Spillman and Perlotte are OBVIOUSLY the better options at LB, but for some crazy reason, we keep trotting the 2 least athletic guys in the room out there to get smoked. The 3rd and 16 was completely on #7 (playing hurt is stupid) and I haven't seen 22 make a read and meet a RB in the hole yet. Spillman and Perlotte are a bit on the small side, but at least they'll anticipate and ATTACK!

After stewing on the loss, the game was on the players not coach.

JA two bad picks took atleast 6 points off the board, then the strip sack where sanders completely whiffed, Max Gilbert missed FG, and Brames drop on 4th down were the sore points for this game. The defense for the most part played extremely well considering what they’ve been all year. We can criticize Heupels clock mgmt but that ultimately didn’t costs us the game. I think he’s a good coach and needs to make staff changes but for the most part, he called a really clean game Saturday.

The Hype is a good coach but needs to take some clock management classes and learn the rules in regards to clock stoppage. He also needs to tweak his staff a little and probably give up the play calling.

Heupel is a really good football coach
There is no question about that. He is an exceptional offensive mind with the right pieces and especially with a QB who can run his system. Whether or not he can manage a staff and do what is necessary to get rid of the dead wood is up in the air. Keeping and promoting buddies who aren’t performing is unacceptable. The ball is in his court.
