I hate that local media fans the flames for views.

Our fanbase is quick to complain & vent, let them. Feeding into it for quick engagement is why the toxicity lingers around so much.

The stupid knee jerk reaction folks get attention and then think their opinions suddenly matter more than anyone else.

I am glad we are upset at losing that game. I feel we can win everyone of them where I remember not to long ago going and expecting and getting blown out and people were not upset because they knew we had almost no chance. This is progress.

The fans, atmosphere, and Oklahoma all showed up last night. Josh Heupel and “Team Tennessee” missed the memo. Such a let down.

Oklahoma tried to give the game away just as bad as Tennessee. Really bad penalties that kept Tennessee drives moving, and INT late in the game that gave UT a chance, their secondary was awful, their dline was great tho

This all goes back to what do we as a fanbase want…Hype is a good coach, not great. If we expect good, he’s our guy. If we want great, he’s not.

And it comes down to unwillingness to make tough staff decisions. For the money we spend, the fan base we have, we should never have less than top 5 coordinator, strength and LOS coaching talent. We miss on 5 out of 6.

He has definitely been an improvement. In no way am I considering that he should be gone, but we are seeing a continued pattern of sloppiness. Each year there’s a winnable game that we don’t show up for. It needs to be addressed.

Consistency is an elite team attribute, at least consistent enough to win games you maybe shouldn’t have. We’re not there yet.

It's just a tough gig and fans are so used to watching NFL kickers that the expectations for college kickers is unreasonable now. Everyone wants a perfect kicker but they are very rare in college.

AP’s comments were essentially that we need to play the young guys we want a part of this team next year or else they may leave. Alluded to them being guys that haven’t play a lot so far.

Personally, I don’t want us firing any damn coaches right now. Finish all the construction & then reevaluate upgrading staff afterwards.

Tony left, had to replace him. Unless Heupel chooses to leave don’t send a good coach recruiting well, competing in every game and putting fans in the seats packing. That’s beyond stupid. I do 100% think Hype can get over the hump if he brings in better assistants for his offensive staff.

With all of these openings, I'm slightly concerned that if Heup A) sees the culture slipping and isn't sure how/if he can fix it, and B) sees 2026-2027 as almost inevitable and genuine "hot seat" territory due to the difficult schedules, he might actually entertain some offers knowing he can avoid true hot seat talk and start over fresh somewhere else.

Starting over fresh is a bigger risk than sticking put. Takes an incredible amount more effort to build from ground zero. He’s got a built in excuse with probation and I think the drive to be great. I’d be surprised if he even entertained a call. Gossip travels quick in Knoxville and I wouldn’t want that distraction in the locker room.

We also have a lot of the discipline issues of Butch teams…presnap penalties, out of position players consistently, etc.

Hype’s teams do always seem to give max effort unlike butch’s teams.

I saw it mentioned a few times on here and other places that we were likely an 8-4 team with a 9-3 schedule. I think that's still appropriate.

Losing sucks. Losing the way that we do, with so many mistakes and mental errors, is torture. At the end of the day, we had a lot to replace and a tall hill to climb.

Looking forward to disappearing for 2 weeks. Wins at Florida and then against Vandy will do well.

I'm more nervous about the offseason than any other games. I hope we are tampering like crazy.

Boo Carter should have never been allowed back on this team. I think him being a cancer has really hurt our defense too. I would love for Heupel to kick him off today and go ahead and make some changes. Send a message that lack of effort and accountability is not accepted anymore. We are here to win and players will give their all. I think his attitude and effort has really rubbed some players the wrong way.

And this is from a boo fan. Not this year and he needs to be gone.
