We don't play Florida or Georgia. Our program has been utterly incompotent and embarrassing against that duo. Glad to get them off our schedule. Then again, we may find new teams to suck against.

We also still have Alabama who has owned us (won 15 straight at one point, that is UK/Vandy level incompetence on the part of Tennessee).

Well if things play out like they seem to for JH, offense will regress and D will elevate. We have a ton of young players who are getting experience. Need to hit the portal hard for DBs and hope one of our highly touted qbs is up for the task. Also RB by committee works when all are clicking but we have definitely regressed there. Also, I’d look at a stud kicker. When margins are so thin in sec you can’t afford to miss very makable FGs in critical games.

So losing against three ranked teams is UK/Vandy levels of incompetence? Got it. Georgia barely escaped Florida and Tennessee so they’re amazing. We lose to Georgia and Oklahoma and we’re incompetent. One score games do not define excellence or incompetence. They define teams that are near equals in talent, training and coaching in some form of combination. I’m so tired of 21st century exaggerations of “worst ever,” “utterly incompetent,” etc.
We lost. We lost with a QB that few on this board knew about before this spring. It was disappointing but let’s see how these men bounce back.

With the Pavia rule can Joey stay one more season?

No losing 15 straight years to a rival is UK/Vandy level incompetence. Same with losing 9 straight (Georgia).

UGA and Florida are 2 totally different animals. UGA has just flat out been better. Florida has at times and has not at times, yet we’ve found crazy ways to lose anyway.

Does Georgia tech lose a lot from this years team? Especially their QB?

I don’t post often on this board so if I am off base please fire away. I have coached high school football and basketball in Georgia a long time so this is my perspective on things When you put so much pressure on your offense to score every time because your defense is not up to par then you are not playing complementary football. The offense is going to have game where the other teams figure them out so we need to be able to lean on the defense and special team to do their part. To me linebacker play and safety has not solid enough to win games. It’s been smoke and mirrors on that side of the ball all year. Either you coach them better or get better players or do both. Not calling for nobody to lose their job but some hard decisions has to be made sooner rather than later.

Our RB's have regressed because of the OL. And that sack/fumble scoop and score was all on our 5* Sanders.

The OL was also the problem with Joey throwing the interceptions. He had zero time to look through the receivers.

The only reason we have beaten a SEC team with a conference win is because 2 of the winless teams played each other yesterday.

That QB is one of the few bright spots on this team and is not guaranteed to be replaced. When Heupel has had a choice in the matter, his QBs have sucked royally. He has only had good QBs when his hand was forced.

Our defense has played good enough for us to be 3-0 in our last 3 games.

The offense gave up 10 points to the Bama defense with the safety, pick 6, and chasing points going for 2 instead of kicking the PAT

The offense gave up 10 points to the OU defense with the scoop and score and the late interception heaving pass before halftime

Our defense has had a lot of issues this year but they have played decent enough to the point where our offense just had to be average or slight below average.

In the 2 losses, our offense has downright AWFUL

Alabama and Georgia have probably been the two best programs in the nation during that period. That’s not utter incompetence nor embarrassing

Losing 15 straight to anyone (Alabama) or going two decades (in the case of both Alabama and Florida) without winning at their stadium is Vandy-level incompetence no matter how you put it.

Our defense stepped up last night in the first half and offensive mistakes killed us.
