Dead? We got a Citrus Bowl to play for! And we'll probably blow out Washington and then talk about how WE should be a playoff team, not [insert other P4 team or whoever the midmajor is].
No brother just last week it was the playoff or bust for lots of folks! Well it’s bust ! So let’s move on to the next sport👍

Wow, the volume of overly verbal folks claiming VOL fan status with negative value add to the program has been shocking. Hopefully all our players have enough character to hang in and prospects know every fanbase has them.

Well brother I know it sounds brash to some , but my attitude changed when they started paying the players! Hell some of these kids make more money playing college ball than I did serving my country and going to war for most of my adult life! So they are not just student athletes anymore. They are essentially paid professionals! And the saying is to those given much, much is expected!!! I made maybe 20k a year for getting shot at in Iraq and much was expected of me there!!!

"I got treated bad so they should get treated worse!" It's a pretty dim world view.

No the point is they are grown men getting paid to do a job! So they are expected to perform for the most b loads of cash they get! Time for them to grow up and earn their pay just like I had to do making a hell of a lot less than they do and playing a dangerous game called war, football is like war except you are guaranteed to go home every night and you may get to buy yourself a Maserati! Stop babying these young men ! I had men that were 18 years old that will never get to go home again and all their family got was at the time 50k in life insurance money!

What was the whole point about you being in the military? Did you just want to talk about yourself for a bit?

Not sure what point you are trying to make. All top teams pay their players now. Not all teams are going to make the playoffs. So according to you every player on every team not making the playoffs didn’t earn their money.

You are comparing apples and oranges. Going to war is a terrible thing and is not in any form or fashion comparable to being a football player.

20k?? That doesn’t sound correct. Even back then, 20k was not a ton of money.

I went in the military because unlike most of you rich college boys I needed a job! I’ve earned every damn thing I have got! Not bad for a poor East Tennessee hillbilly that never had indoor plumbing till I went to basic training! Point is this teams performance is unacceptable! And no I don’t like talking about myself my name is nobody😀

Believe it or not you don't have to be rich to go to college. You can pay your own way, but it's a lot easier if people have your back. If I could have paid it with my athletic talent, I would have, and I'd probably be doing something in athletics today (and not necessarily making as much as I do now). I did pay for it with my own work.

If I were to tie up my personality in my view of these players, my own experience doesn't change how I feel about the players. If someone is paying for them to play, we've got a way for them to get that money now, and I'm glad for it. They know as much as we do that if they don't hold up their end of the bargain with performance, they're not going to get a payday. Not everybody is going to pull through, but that's just how college is even for non-athletics students (with 71% of UT incoming freshmen finishing a bachelor's in 6 years, nearly 3 in 10 students don't graduate).

Well, you and your not foxhole worthy friends move on as long as you stay out of the FB and Recruiting forums. Published bailing becomes facts for recruits to use in their decision process. Fair weather fans are a drag on the program like underperforming athletes and coaches.

Expectations instead of hopes by a fan, loosely using the term, is unsightly when back turning is involved.

Quality fans are hurting post game with the players, not abandoning them.

I wish that these NIL (actually revenue sharing) deals were set up with half or more of the compensation going into escrow with players losing that money if they opt out before the last game is played. Bowl games are now a joke. But that began when it went from about 15 bowl games to 40 or more.
That's the reg everyone talked about that was needed when NIL was passed
