Urban Meyer called it.

Back when Nico left. He said the people celebrating the stance coach took will be singing a different song come mid fall.

And he was right. I know there is more to the story than just that. There are sprinkles of questionable play calls, poor clock management, failure to change out coaches who are in over their head etc. But he was spot on all the same.

With a great quarterback this year to complement what turned out to be a really good wide receiver corp, a lot of warts we saw may have never came to light. Not that Nico would have been a sure thing, but it’s a point worth examining. Had our offense been lights out, our defense would have had an easier go at it. We also wouldn’t have seen so many questionable decision making situations because the score might not have allowed for it.

We have a good class coming in next year. We just may be close to turning that corner. Let’s hope we can all hang on and that it does pan out in the end. Lord knows we could use it.

Nope. With Nico. There would be no offense at all .

What part of my comment of Nico needing a quality staff did you not understand. I for one am shocked that people apparently think UCLA’s staff is on par with Heupel/Tennessee.
What part of Nico just isn’t very good and not worth 4 million dollars don’t you understand? Apparently none of it. Joey is more accurate than Nico has ever been. He had a bad night but he isn’t the reason we have lost 3 games. Just like Georgia wasn’t sweating Beck going to Miami. He is way overpaid and overrated as well. GBO

Our record would be worse than it is if Nico was still here.

Dumbest take ever. Not surprised it originated with Urban Meyer. Doesn't say much for the OP to be perpetuating this crap.

Until we can match UGA and Bama talent in the trenches, it’s going to be the same results.

WRs have definitely made a difference. We have 3 legit NFL WRs...and more coming. Just need a qb that can be upper middle of SEC and matching D. We have the talent collectively, but cannot afford to have large holes in the team, like DB or RB/OL (which hasn't been horrible). When D and Rushing attack dropped off this year, which is how we were in the playoffs last year, we can't just hang our hat on "out scoring" every team, b/c like OK figured out, if you shut down the rushing attack and make us one dimensional, eventually, we stall out...those back to back 3 and out's were killer for our momentum.

Meyer wasn’t entirely wrong. Joey has done admirably given the time he had. But if papa Nico was shopping his son at the end of last year, we should’ve seen him out and found the best portal QB of the entire cycle. Not just the best guy available at end of spring practice. Those pools are not even close to the same.

We would be in a worse position with Nico. If he even made it to the Oklahoma game without getting injured they would’ve broken that string bean in half last night.

Just stop, Joey is NOT the issue on this team

Our situation has 0 to do with Nico. We upgraded with JA. Terrible take.

Translation: We may have enough good players to make up for non fundamental coaching and bad play calling on both sides of the ball.

Urban Meyer was full of shĂt and so are you. With Nico we would miss a bowl this year. Aguilar is one of the few bright spots on this team, despite struggling in moments yesterday.

I will never take up for the former headcase QB from Cali, but the best part of his game is rushing the ball...he impressed me from that perspective vs OSU, cracked helmet and all and kept going...though he couldn't throw the ball in the ocean.

Lol, not having Nico as QB has contributed exactly 0 to why we have lost games this season.
Sorry, I didn’t mean for that to sound like I missed Nico in any sort of way. I honestly didn’t like him that much before all this happened so there’s definitely no love lost for me.

If Nico stayed, this team losses several more games than they won in blowout fashion due to a really banged up defensive secondary. Aguilar won some games and kept them in games due to just being a better QB.

Hell it's not hard to predict our fans. We can't be happy to save our lives. If we won a national championship a ton of our fans would find something to complain about
