How is this any different than a Butch game?

I hope you are right. Not seeing it. Players reflect their coach. And these guys don’t have it. Chokers.
Auburn,Kentucky,South Carolina,Mississippi State and after Oklahoma plays Alabama in two weeks will all want to trade places with us.
CJH wants to be here. He loves where he’s at and loves being a Vol! He will bring us championships.

He beat Alabama and made it to the playoffs. He isn’t a liar and lock room cancer. Hope this helps!
Big deal beating Ala. We still haven't won a sec title or nothing. Last time I checked today, Ala is still ranked ahead of us. Coach H is simply not the solution. First one to be fired tomorrow should be banks. Period. You avg 30 pts plus a game on offense and still can't win against ranked teams. Nothing. And to think people still wanted us to get in the playoffs. Why?

It's quite different, with Butch we lost because of poor coaching combined with no talent. Now we have midlevel coaching with a midlevel talent.

This game is a carbon copy of any of our big game performances under him. This is not acceptable at all and I don’t know how anyone can watch this team and say they have been well coached at any level.

Massive mistake after massive mistake and every game has been sloppy and a struggle to do simple things right.

This is a decently talented football team that can barely do anything right. I have seen enough awful coaching performances at Tennessee to recognize another one. He has been great for us, but he has failed this year.
If only VN could go back to March 24th of this year.....

I don’t think Heupel will ever win an SEC title or Natty here with Smart and Deboer where they are. I do think he can get us to the playoffs on select years. He’s got some high level guys coming in next year so we will see what he does with them. Barring any meltdowns he has a few years to go but we aren’t winning anything of relevance with him.

You really think so? I hope you're right but I see a bit of a regression. We reached a high point with a QB that we lucked into. He's also recruiting behind the top 5-6 programs in the SEC. I don't see anyone any better we can get, but I don't see him getting a whiff of any type of championship ( barring a re-tool and major upgrade of his staff).

There should be an unlike button because that is just dumb. Butch had one of the most talented rosters in 2015 than we have had since probably 01’. This roster isn’t in the same league as that one

And what should we expect out of 2026? However you answer that question is your current outlook on this season.
I’ll take the bait :). Having a freshman QB will be a minor factor. 8-4 is the best they will do next year. But I think team will be more talented and possibly deeper. 2027 should be really interesting!!

I know this is just an agony thread, but I think there are some differences.
- nothing dumb happened because of analytics
- You have a pretty high performance offense that we didn't expect to have this year. The result seems better than the parts
- Playmakers were in the game playing the right positions
- Players on the line are bigger (I didn't check actual stats on this)

Define sucks for me? Taking a last minute QB who walked on after getting pushed out for Nico and playing competitive in the SEC and making him look to the max of his abilities seems pretty solid to me.
The guy we’ve coached the least is arguably the best player on the team. Must mean our coaches are amazing!

Watching you all cry about coaching is hilarious. Keep crying the salty tears. It's a pretty good year considering UT lost their STARTING QB the day before the spring game.

Grow up.
You’ll make an excuse for him next year also.

Up until OK, JA has been an upgrade. So the QB excuse doesn’t hold water.
