Agree…..not to mention the injuries we were dealing with at the beginning of the year with already razor thin margin. The season is turning into what most projected….relax and enjoy the ride. Does it hurt? Sure, but it I have faith that those in charge want success even more than me and they are working hard to make it happen. Stay the course….You guys have lost your dang minds. This is one of if not the youngest team in the SEC. We were put in an impossible situation this spring with Nico and we still have the top offense in the league. The culture is great and recruit interest is on the rise. We finally get stability and we have fools on this site that want him gone. How little our memories are of all we suffered just five years ago.
This sucks. This season is literally the season of what could have been. Change a few plays and the whole season looks different
Coach has shown the ability to change just this offseason with revamping the offense. Let him continue to prove himself. This sucks, but he is our guy. He is Tennessee.
you own a business. if i'm huep, banks is on a performance action plan. guy makes way too much money and has access to waay too much recruiting money to not have a functioning defense.White is a money man. As long as people are lined up throwing money at him, no reason to do a thing. (Not that I'm calling for Heup to be fired)
There's a DC named Kevin that spent some time at auburn, he can mow any design you need in the practice field. So who are we realistically getting at DC that can turn this thing around in one season AND without setting us back another 1–2 years trying to learn a whole new scheme or adjust to a new DC coach and new staff?
I prefer continuity at this point. Sign some ELITE defensive portal players and let’s see how it turns out next season.
Season isn’t over. A mediocre coach goes 6-6 or 7-5 with this team and guess what…we’re staring down the barrel of a 5 loss season.I planned on avoiding this place like the plague for the foreseeable future. Then I realized we are better than we should be, considering the off-season drama. I hate the losses, because I believed in the "fairy tale" this season would be if we just kept winning. It feels worse because we are 2 dang kicks away from being in the front of that fairy tale story. The truth is, few other coaches in the country could take this off-season roster turnover and be competing for a playoff spot in the 2nd half of the season. The truth is, with a mediocre coach, we're sitting at 4-5, maybe worse.
We all knew this was gonna be a down year. I just hope some of the fans realize that we're actually playing above our heads everywhere on the field except special teams and some defense. Fans should still be thanking Heupel, because instead of bitching about a 3rd loss, we'd be getting embarrassed by another 7 loss season.
worst sport?Football is our money maker and our worst sport right now. Stop with the excuses. It is unacceptable.
Women’s bball year two has a championship roster and coach.
Men’s basketball paid for a championship roster and they will make a run. They have been very good for years.
Baseball is loaded and a championship team this year. Staff is excellent.
Women’s soccer is playing well and a top team in the country.
Schools try to steal our coaches from other sports all the time and an MLB team took our baseball coach. No one is coming for Banks, Alban, Hazle, and many others. It’s time to make changes and not keep hiring in the buddy network. It’s is unacceptable to be looking at an eight win season in year five for our biggest $$$ maker and with an easy SEC schedule.
Heupel seems stubborn, like Fulmer used to be. It may take DW taking a hard line to see staff changes. I don't think Heupel likes that aspect of the job.
We still need to recruit better, in both high school and portal recruiting. This year's HS class is good with a chance to be better, IF we can hold it together. We're in prime poaching season when it comes to recruits. Hoping we don't lose anyone we don't want to lose.

I had not heard that rumor. PTSD?Season isn’t over. A mediocre coach goes 6-6 or 7-5 with this team and guess what…we’re staring down the barrel of a 5 loss season.
Sure let’s thank Heupel. Let’s applaud him for what he’s done. Let’s give him the time he deserves. We can say and agree with all that—which I absolutely do—BUT we also cannot accept the same damn stuff we’ve been seeing every game this year and in previous seasons. Bad penalties, questionable decision making in big games, one or two guaranteed sloppy games a year (usually away but last night was at home), and constant missed assignment from guys who have at minimum 1 year of experience. That’s coaching, man.
And if the rumors are true and he’s afraid of change because of the PTSD he suffered when he got fired at OU, well then either see a therapist and make the changes or take the paycheck and walk because you’re out next year if you don’t make those changes. He’s gotten a pass for 4 years for a variety of reasons, all of which are understandable and acceptable. But this is Year 5, and by Year 5 we shouldn’t be seeing this sloppiness.
He’s got the boys he wants in his system. He’s got the playmakers that shouldn’t be making these boneheaded mistakes. He’s got the money and resources to do better every Saturday. He’s got what is needed for player growth and development And with what we as fans are charged every Saturday, we have every right to demand better and hold him to high expectations. He hasn’t delivered on that this season and that’s on him and his staff.
