I'd play George MacIntyre

George is technically the 3rd string and needs to gain so.e serious weight. He will get some reps in the bowl game after Merk transfers out.

I have zero issues with Merklinger getting the start against New Mexico State and first team reps during the bye week. Using spring practice and orange and white game is absolutely moronic to gauge where your QB’s are when you have actual games on the schedule left in a season that is over with nothing to play for

Joey is not the problem. We need to enjoy something good when you have it. Joey is the best QB we’ve had since Hooker.

I don’t think our “future QB” is on the roster yet, so preparing for the future is not helpful. Likely the next QB is playing HS or will come from the transfer portal.

Play the person that gives you best shot to win. It’s college football, not the nfl. It’s not playoffs or busts. You can still get win in the swamp for the first time since 2003. You can curb stomp little brother back to reality. It’s those games that make the sport special, not the “playoffs”.
Joey is leading the SEC in so many categories. I agree with you 100%. It would be wild to bench him.

Kitzleman still played after State. Boo keeps playing. The safeties still playing. How many dropped TDs does Matthews have?
Its amazing we were ready to build a statue for the guy now we're ready to move on.
Woah, who was ready to build a statue of the guy? He's an OC at best. Preferably with Golesh…..

9-3 does nothing for the program. Heupel has officially regressed for the first time here.

We have a bye week, a pay for game. Matthews and Staley will be here next year. Time to get live reps with Merk and GMac and start planning for the future.

Players get paid now. This is a business.
And thank goodness you aren't involved with any decisions

Im sorry man, that's where the game is now......

Why because the media tells you that? So if we go to the swamp and win for the first time since 03 it’s meangless? We squash Vandys playoff hope, it’s meaningless? This sport has always been about rivalries and regular season games. Should always be

blah blah blah and we still have 3 losses and are out of playoff contention. THATS WHAT MATTERS NOW!!!!!!!

With the offensive line getting continually whipped you can't put the blame on Joey.
I was complimenting him. Sorry if I made it sound otherwise. Our OL hasn’t looked great since they started moving things around. I know they wanted to get Sanders in but it hasn’t looked right sense.

Loser mentality. You play to win.
Love Aguilar. He did great for us…but since playoffs are out of reach…why not start allowing George some reps the rest of the season. Get him some good experience. But of course we have Merklinger as #2…so maybe rotate them in games. I just know Merk will be leaving but you can’t skip over him either. I just really don’t know how we dropped this game like we did. Piss poor performance. Born in the 80s, knew the 90s Vols and we don’t lose this game back then.
TN lost to Memphis with Peyton Manning. The 90’s teams underperformed and shat the bed plenty of times too with great talent. OK turned us over and stopped our run game. Kudos to them.
