The Official #18 Oklahoma (6-2/2-2) at #14 TENNESSEE (6-2/3-2) Thread - Zone Edition – Neyland Stadium - Knoxville - November 1 @ 7:30 EST - ABC

That’s a team we beat 7 out of 10 times.
Wasn’t our night.

I guess I’m calm because I thought this year would be a disaster and we’ve had our chances in every single game.

I get that the roster problem is because our coach decided to get rid of a lot of cancer in the offseason. I get that he recruited those kids to begin with but I’d rather have him representing my university than almost anyone I can think of.

Vamos Vols!!!
Creo que el año que viene será especial.
Should have beat uga, beat AL on paper and should have won tonight. Not a rebuilding year.

That’s the beauty of this.
It is absolutely a rebuilding year. We have freshmen running around everywhere and look how close we are. We lose very little at the end of this year……..
The next 2 could be pretty good

We could also go to Gainesville and beat the brakes off the geckos. You just never know.

With this defense, I'm not hopeful. I was expecting that loss, thought we'd win tonight for 9-3. That said, vandy isn't going to be easy. It's at home, but so was tonight. Lije I saud, I'll forget tonight for a win in the swamp.

Anyone ready to play Mac or Merk the rest of the way?
I'd like to see them get as much playing time as they can, but I think you have to stick with JA

not sure if this makes sense and ngaf but

Where I am right now as opposed to past years: I don't know with N.I.L. and the Portal if a lot of our "youth" this year will be around. I mean I want to think that program building (one year after another building as you go) is going to continue. I just don't know. I mean I recognize the youth we have out there, but how many are going to stick around?

Edit: if a lot of our young players jump ship, there's really no way to even gauge expectations for future years.

Before injuries, McCoy and Gibson flirted with leaving. Not sure if Boo has checked out yet or not. I want to think that Redmond is going to be around for three more years and this year he is learning a lot and having to grow up quickly. I just don't know how the players see it with the amount of $$ involved.

Hard to say honestly. On one hand, it's one of them next year, on the other I could see Heupel bringing a transfer while waiting for Fazion to be ready. Either way, would either get us wins over Florida and vandy, or does joey give us the best chance?

You’re right they’re kids and they do dumb things but if the youth is playing then why would they jump ship?

At some point I think rules will fall into place for collective bargaining and multi year contracts.
But who knows, maybe it stays the Wild West forever.

I do know that a lot of the kids that left last year were told to go.

Last night, especially the second half, JA's facial expression was not his usual confident self. CJH kinda looked a little lost too.

That dropped ball by the freshman TE was a deflator. The defense allowing 24 that long run at the end. It is what it is.

I had hope up til that run.

Not upset, tho.

Our defense was a pleasant surprise for most of the game. Our offense was a disappointment for the first time for me. What was up with our OL?

Yeah, Farooq Hood Spillman and Redmond all played well. By far the best this group played all year. Probably not a coincidence that Boo played 0 defensive snaps.

Our OL is two guys that weren't starting at other schools, and 2 true/redshirt freshman, a transfer from Arizona, and a guy (Shams) that probably isnt a SEC caliber guard. And yeah, they didnt look good....
