The Atlanta Braves

Heartbreaking WS losses in my lifetime:

1) Cleveland 1997
2) Texas 2011
3) Toronto 2025
4) San Fran 2002

Big Gap
5) 1996 Braves
6) 2014 Royals

Dave Roberts had Yamamoto throw 96 pitches then the next day throw 33 pitches with the season one the line.

Meanwhile AJ Hinch didn’t even ask Skubal if he wanted the 7th

I guess we should feel fortunate that Aguilar made it until late October before he started turning it over. Not beating anybody turning it over 3 times, giving up a defensive TD and missing a FG.

Also really stuck out how average we are at RB and the QB runs. We’re not really bad. We just aren’t dynamic unless there’s a huge hole.

Just not dynamic enough with the ball in our hands outside of WR. Short kick offs all night and we didn’t flip the field, no big punt returns, etc. I’ve been screaming about the RB position all year so thats no surprise when we actually see a defense with a pulse.

Don’t have a freakazoid. RB is a problem for that reason. We aren’t always going to be able to scheme up huge holes. Sometimes you need a guy that can win 1v1 or break a tackle.

There is no excuse to lose a game in which your opponent can’t move the ball unless you turn it over. After we went up at the beginning of the game, I believe we could have gone run, run, run, punt for the rest of the game and won. And I’m aware we were zero threat in the run game. OU was completely inept on offense. This is a calamity of a performance.

They really need to flip several positions through the portal and that’s not something they’ve shown a willingness to do.

Also, it’s tough to envision CJH going a season without a few losses like this. Another is coming in the swamp.

The difference in this RB room vs past Heupel teams is they get only what’s blocked. They can’t make guys miss

Even despite the 3 TO’s and the weakness at QB/RB, we’ve had enough offensively. The problem is if Banks is going to continue to play defense like this, you can’t have average talent. You have got to be elite
