'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus Oklahoma Pre-game/Game Thread

Brother, I didn’t want to be right but he is consistent

It is mind boggling that he hasn’t attacked his weak points.
There’s just no way we can be great until he addresses his own issues as a head football coach
1. Lack of discipline.
2. Some of the worst clock management I have ever seen.
3. Rotating players for fun.
4. Where's the tempo.
5. Too loyal to his staff, and guys he knows. We need a new OC and I've hated the DC for years.

Heupel had one hand tied behind his back all season. New QB, DB gutted by injuries. His coaching mistakes are frustrating, but add in everything else and this season just wasn’t meant to be. We’ve been riding the edge all year and it finally caught up with us.

We need to win out.
We do, but it won't make a real difference. Any commits on the fence weren't swayed. We aren't closing ground with any of the other wins on schedule. The best we can hope for is to mitigate exodus.

I know y’all love bashing CJH and he deserves blame but he didn’t tell the RT to blow his assignment for a 71 yard scoop and score. He didn’t tell his QB to throw 2 bad INTs, and had the perfect play call on 4th and 1 and the scholarship TE dropped it. I’ll se myself out.

Also OU was offsides on their scoop and score. If that is officiated properly we win this game lol. Not putting it on that solely because we played like **** a lot of the night still. But worth a note

I’m not remotely out on Heupel — that’s ridiculous.

But we need some serious work. Schedule is brutal next year. We have benefited last year and this year playing a really soft schedule.
Yes next year is a 7 or 8 win season without major upgrades. You saw a much more physical team tonight than Bama or GA. As usual we get the other teams best game.

I agree, but this one was on him, his first bad home loss, there are no scapegoats, the defense did it's job.
It wasn't really on him-- lots of weird turnovers. We had the offense and the defense played better.

Vandy qb gonna run wild on us. We weren’t a playoff team before this game no matter what the percentages show. Gonna really struggle against Florida and Vandy.

Had his faults in the UGA game for sure. But what did he do so badly here? Can’t block for the oline himself

Clock management, discipline, small details have killed us all year. We haven’t looked like a well coached team this year. We are not losing because of talent. We should have won this game and UGA. It’s not good. Heup has earned another 2-3 seasons IMO, but coaching staff has to improve.

Absolutely people should be. We won’t make the playoffs every year, and no one should expect that. If we are contending for playoffs EVERY year in games 9+, sign me up. Dumb not to want that.
Nobody is saying they don’t want that. A lot of fans see areas for improvement with this staff, the frustrating parts, and their inability to grow as the season progresses. I love 9+ wins every season, but on the other hand I believe that a good chunk of fans that are good with this mainly because of where we came from is scared that we might go back into that. Which is understandable.

Or if our freshman O Line doesn’t completely whiff on D end. Let’s not blame officials when we were the problem.

here’s the thing. Nobody should want Heup fired. Everyone should be thankful he lifted this program from the dead. But he is never winning big here unless we just have an absolute loaded roster.
He's what I said he was when we hired him. Our Mark Richt......its not time yet, but after Faizon, you move on.
