Did Josh resurrect Tennessee, or could any remotely competent coach have pulled off the same feat?

Playoff or bust next year. I don't think he has the balls to make any of the changes necessary to pull that off.

It's not even really the poor football team stuff that bothers me. It's that even in our great years now we manage to **** the bed in newly creative ways, or we just plain don't play basic fundamentals well. Penalties, drops, turnovers...it's constant.
Hey maybe hype is going to follow the doles model and run for governor of Oklahoma after Tennessee fires him? Hell he just got a lot of homer votes tonight they love him in Oklahoma!!

I'm not out on Heupel. It is time to evaluate. Saban became Saban by being able to adjust.

Our offensive line gets pushed around any time we play a good D line. Elarbee needs to go.

Yes, Willie Martinez has put guys in the league, but dear LORD these safeties are atrocious. He needs to go.

Tim Banks....I think he's OK, but OK isn't doing it. Goodbye Tim. LSU has an AMAZING defensive coordinator. Auburn defense looks great. Florida's defense looks great. Money whip one of these guys. Gardner stays, everybody else it's up to new DC

We need to up our NIL spending. We need to put all possible funds into football. THAT'S what pays the bills. We need to look into getting a GM.

Yall really need to get over this playoff ****. If we haven’t learned by now the expanded playoffs are a joke. How may absolutely horrible games did we watch till they even got competitive. The goal is to win the SEC and be a top dog making a run, the trajectory is neither as of now… what we saw was the peak, now we’re watching a coach tread water and fighting for air in the conference.

That's also where I am at. Making the playoffs regularly should be baseline expected with our resources. But then to get there and get blown out? That's a problem.

Not good to have a roster this bad in your 5th year. Defense is worse than it was when he got here.

Questionable coaching decisions. Poor time management.

Poor talent evaluations for recruiting the LOS.

The SEC schedule will never get easier than it is now.

Heupel will win us 8-10 games a year with an occasional 11 win season.

It's up to the UTAD to decide if that's enough.

I'll keep supporting. Who knows, maybe I'll get season tickets next year.

I wouldn't put it past Heupel to trot out Merklinger next year even though he isn't an SEC QB.

We shall see.

I love him, but I think this is the ceiling. We have had letdowns every year he has been here. He has improved us and brought us back to being semi respectable, but we will never get above that with him. He struggles against elite coaches. We get our asses kicked when we shouldn’t at least twice a year. The bigger question for me is can staff changes close the gap?
