This is a very dumb reaction / comment. Landry is not hiring anyone. He is not firing anyone. Why would anybody take the LSU job knowing the Governor is the de facto AD?
Pretty long but very interesting:

He simply interjected and said outloud what everyone is thinking and that is Scott Woodward is a failed AD. Scott has hired 2 coaches that led to schools having to pay them over $125m to not coach. A state employee saying that person will not have decision making in order to hopefully prevent a 3rd instance under his watch does not make Landry the de facto AD.
I think the OP was just trying to make a point of the wasted money and dumb move to sign Kelly to that contract. As a side note , Louisiana is one of the poorest and least educated states. Ranking in the bottom 2 of both.I challenge you to ride through the streets of Houma shouting out your window how dumb the state is.
Your thread title and post are miles apart, making you not so intelligent yourself.
Yep, per capita Louisiana is the top state for football talent, and as you’ve said, no instate competition. Not a bad base for recruiting.LSU has the most in state talent and 0 in state competition for that talent.
It may be the overall best Job. Ohio State is the only job I would consider above it and they have significantly better in state talent than Ohio State with even less in state competition
The Governor is the boss of EVERY State employee.“LSU football is paramount to any governor,” he continued. “No governor is going to say they don’t care about it — that would be political suicide. They preside over the action on Saturday night as if they’re some regal emperor ruling from the stands.”
Jimmy Sexton is a VFL. Can't fault him for getting the most for his clients.Wonder what General Neyland would think, if he suddenly came to life and heard that when a coach gets fired, they get 50 - 100 million dollars. My Dad was in the Neyland era. Back then, when you got fired, you didn't have income and you were quickly looking for another job, or you didn't eat. These agents like Jimmy Sexton slow rolled this into the scene. It's like boiling the frog - if you gradually increase the heat you never notice the change until it's out of control.
Thanks just suggesting they may want to reorder their prioroties a little bit. Especially since the moron. Governor said they are going to use taxpayers dollars to fund some of the buyout.I think the OP was just trying to make a point of the wasted money and dumb move to sign Kelly to that contract. As a side note , Louisiana is one of the poorest and least educated states. Ranking in the bottom 2 of both.
People watched season one of True Detective and assumed that everyone in Louisiana is swap trash, like how most of the characters were portrayed.Hmm.. having actually lived in Louisiana, I will say there are pockets that are actually affluent and people are pretty educated.. the schools my kids went to were actually better than Tennessee in my opinion… just like we have Memphis skewing all of our stats for ‘poor and uneducated’ they have Shreveport and New Orleans adding the poo hole aspect and making everyone look bad
I can only imagine how far down your nose you look at other people. When the country finally goes to final crap, I bet they'll be one of the few states where the overwhelming majority of its residents can survive and feed themselves without a handout.Just to set the record straight. US News rates Louisiana the worst state in the country to live in.
I have always enjoyed my trips to NOLA and am a huge college football fan. However I would think the state might re-order their priorities somewhat.
If link doesn't work try this:
Being from Tennessee, we know all about being stereotypedPeople watched season one of True Detective and assumed that everyone in Louisiana is swap trash, like how most of the characters were portrayed.
So ignorant and racist. There are plenty of redneck rural dumba$$35 in both states. Keep pushing that hate narrative you geriatric ****.Hmm.. having actually lived in Louisiana, I will say there are pockets that are actually affluent and people are pretty educated.. the schools my kids went to were actually better than Tennessee in my opinion… just like we have Memphis skewing all of our stats for ‘poor and uneducated’ they have Shreveport and New Orleans adding the poo hole aspect and making everyone look bad
