Says who? Have you ever actually known someone who works there?
Walmart is the largest employer in several states, including Tennessee . You guys can crap on honest work all you want, but this myth that only teenagers and college students are working retail oriented jobs has been debunked ad nauseum.

Per Demandsage.com, the average income in the US is $62,192/year. (Up 4.6% YoY) Per Salary.com, the average salary at Walmart is $101,830/year. (The low end they cite is $89,317/year) It seems to me that you are hyper focused on a handful of employees that are working and below the poverty line, but I would contend that that is a conscious choice in order to get government bennies. The poverty level for 2025 is $21,250 for a family of 2. Do you still think Walmart is paying poverty wages? And why is that?
Would it make a difference if it was a rainbow flag ? I bet it was !Per Demandsage.com, the average income in the US is $62,192/year. Or if that doesn't do it for you. The percentage of Americans on SNAP is 12.3%. The percentage of Walmart employees receiving SNAP benefits is 0.9%.
You picked an awfully strange hill to plant a flag.
We are discussing SNAP. Most of the SNAP recipients at WMT arent those working 40+ hrs with another working spouse.
It's those working sub 35 hrs a week usually by their own choice (for govt benefit purposes whether its SNAP or EITC).
And yes, Ill stand by that. Working less than 35 hrs a week at WMT isnt a career....

Where are those 40 hour WMT workers qualifying for SNAP benefits? California? New York? Illinois?Working less than 35 hour per week is not a career in many occupations.
Try moving the goal post ,40 hrs workers at WMT are eligible for snap. I get tired of hearing about some jobs meant as non career, starter jobs etc . So let's only allow pre HS grads to work at fast food places. You'll be skipping the McDonald's breakfast or late night stop at IHOP.

Yeah, fair enough.... I did another search and found the average wages at WMT brings them to $31,616 which is still above poverty wages.99% of their employees are hourly and not salaried so bringing up salary is kinda an irrelevant argument.
It's a lot more than .9% that are on SNAP.
But yeah, if you make 17.50 an hour, you can make ends meet in many rural areas....
