This is true. I might have posted this back in the summer but I went to a Jewish wedding in NYC this summer. At the after ceremony reception I said something about how much food was being served and a guy at the table said (paraphrasing) "Y'all have been trying to kill us off for thousands of years, we're still here so let's eat". It was one hell of a party even though it was segregated men in one ball room and women in the other.

I'm not trying to do anything but get a straight answer. I never asked why - not once. If I'm saying it was wrong to be prejudiced against Jews in the '30s, black people in the '50s, gay people in the '80s, I don't need someone to come explain to me "why" people were prejudiced. We all know that s**t and it has no bearing on whether that prejudice is right or wrong, unless you're implying that it's justified.

There will always be a reason why. Every period of prejudice against a particular group includes a "why". Usually it's "crime" or "national security" or somehow "coming for the women and children," including that gay/trans people were going to make your kid gay or trans. I'm asking you whether you buy the given "why" and think looking at Muslims differently is indeed justified.

It's a lot of this board, though. People will say that discrimination is bad but then will argue in favor of looking at Muslims differently. Which is it? Take a damn stand IMO, even if people simply said "yes I am prejudiced against Muslims" I would at least respect their honesty and self-awareness
