The Atlanta Braves

I can’t even have a good day imaging my dear friends squinting at their phone screens showing some buffering illegal stream

This is America!! 2025!! Make television mainstream again!!

We’re treating top 20 college football showdowns like forbidden fruit! My boys having to break out the descramblers just to see Chris brazzell catch a touchdown pass!!

If we win out (which I don't think we are going to do), it is quite possible Vandy would be our best win of the year. Beating OU would send them to 2-3 in conference play with @Alabama, Mizzou, and LSU left on their schedule. Imagine if someone told you that before the season began.

The committee is going to have some interesting choices this year:
- Three guaranteed spots in the Big Ten with Ohio State, Oregon and Indiana. Barring Oregon or Ohio State being upset, nobody else in the Big Ten will have 1 or 2 losses.
- ACC/Big 12/G5/SEC winner, so that's going to be 5 spots open.
- The Big 12 has 1 undefeated team in BYU and three 1-loss teams in Houston, BYU and Texas Tech. Tech/BYU play each other. Cincinnati has Utah in Utah (good luck!). Would Houston's resume be strong enough if they are 11-1 and play undefeated BYU?
- The ACC has 1 undefeated team in Georgia Tech and three 1-loss teams in Miami, Louisville and Virginia. If Miami goes 11-1 but loses to Georgia Tech, they'll be in IMO. Virginia has a pretty easy schedule upcoming. That will be interesting.
- And of course, there is the Irish in the ointment with Notre Dame having 2 "great" losses but their best win is USC and they play no conference title game.

10-2 ND is in unfortunately

It's incredible to me (and I know a lot of this is the TV providers) that the conferences just kowtow to Notre Dame like they do. I can't believe in this day in conference realignment that the P4 just makes sure that Notre Dame gets brought along in everything.

I agree, and I’ll never be confused with an ND backer, but you’d have a really hard time saying they aren’t one of the 12 best *this* season

They're going to get a benefit of the doubt for a while even more so because they made it to the title game last year.

I agree with you though about the rest of the sport still kowtowing to them. They are not the branding or marketing force that they were in the 80s or 90s and especially not in the 60s and 70s, but they get treated as though they are. How they've managed to resist joining a conference in football is amazing to me, although any other school in their same position would do the same thing.
