Drinkwitz is a word class goob, but he has done more with less, for multiple seasons, than any coach I have ever watched. I figure he would be dangerous in Gainesville.

I would be careful about thinking Drink is Saban Jr.

Some of his big "recruiting wins" the last 4 years or so are due to a Missouri law that signees from in state schools can start receiving money in high school.

As a result of that, he landed a string of 5 stars who would never have touched Missouri otherwise (Luther Burden, etc).

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but his run at Mizzu may have something behind the scenes

Pretty ingenious way to ensure in-state talent stays home.

But, don't see that being enough to make him the on-field coach he seems to be. Never will be a Saban Jr. Too tall a task. But definitely upper third SEC caliber coach thus far, even as a goober. He's earned some props.

Burden was really the only one that worked out. there was a Dlineman that did nothing his freshman year, and then he transferred out.

Didn't that QB they had that graduated last year have that same situation also with the NIL? I think his name was Connor something. He got hurt near the end of last season IIRC?

I don't know.

His name was Brady Cook. Sorry, the guy he took over for was the one named Conner (Blasiak or something like that).

The Cook guy wasn't horrible. He shredded us in 2023. I think he's on the Jets practice squad now.
