They aren’t used to losing at home. Hell, they aren’t used to losing, period. I lived there briefly in the early 1980s. I had someone seriously ask me if Tennessee had much of a football program.Wow they're really down for a 6-2 team. Expected at least a little confidence given how bad our defense has been. I'm preparing for the shootout, hoping our defense can get a couple stops, force a turnover or two.
The loss to Texas took a lot of wind out of their sails, as is finding out that their 2 best wins (Michigan and Auburn) are against teams that aren't anything special.Wow they're really down for a 6-2 team. Yes, if we can't pressure with dl, blitz and blitz often. I would take my chances of getting to him or enough pressure for him to make terrible throws. Give him tme he will rip us apart. We can't give Meter all day to throw the ball. He will pick us apart. We have to make him uncomfortable the whole game.
Agree. Gonna have to put these young DB's on an island and say today, you grow upt. Safeties are going to have to figure out who to help out and watch for the safety valves (RB's and TE's). Soft zone these guys have been playing is exactly what OU will be expecting and will scheme for. Lesser QB's have torched this secondary.Yes, if we can't pressure with dl, blitz and blitz often. Thank youWhy would they? They have to play a perfect game to have a chance against us as long our offense plays just average.
OU just got carved up by a very potent offense on their home turf. They are going on the road against a better offense. The notion that OU just has to show up to win is absurd. Mateer is injured and stunting his rehab by playing and is averaging 190 since he surgery. But sure, lets be scared.
I read these and all I hear in my head is hair band metal rock from the 70s/80s: Enter Sandman, War Pigs, Iron Man, thunderstruck, TNT, welcome to the jungle, kickstart to my heart, etc-This Tennessee team is a repeat of The Ole Miss team we just faced. Not great on defense, but really good on offense. We have to play a perfect game.
-I really hope this is the weekend that Mateer starts seeing the field instead of what he has been doing.
-If our offense is as good as the Kentucky offense, we could win this game. I wish I was certain it was as good.
-I've got a bad feeling that is going to be deja vu of the Ole Miss game. Have you guys seen this Brazzell kid for Tennessee?? Sheesh
-We have to play complimentary football if we want to take advantage of that Tennessee defense. Kentucky did not and they lost.
-I am kind of scared that no matter what we do, they'll outscore us. Their offense is scary good.
-I just wish I had confidence in our QB. I do not.
-Yeah, not gonna win this one. Too much against this team.
-We need everything to work so we can expose their defense and we have to control the clock.
-Their defense is very suspect, but it also seems that if you don't play a near perfect game on offense, you're not going to beat them. See Kentucky.
-A night game at their place is SCARY. Their fans are going to bring the pain, I hope Mateer can handle it.
-This game is really pivotal for the outlook on the rest of this season. Are we man enough to step up and steal one on the road? We're about to find out.
-I am attending this one in person. I have heard nothing but great things. Looking forward to the hospitality I've heard about from other fans.
-Another big weekend, another big SEC matchup. It's going to be a war and the better team will win. I just want to see our offense correct mistakes from Ole Miss and I want to see our o-line cohesively play better than we have all year.
-I am worried about our o-line. Tennessee's defense isn't very good, but their defensive lineman could certainly disrupt things.
if hood is out, or even limited, we are in deep(er) doodoo.Agree. Gonna have to put these young DB's on an island and say today, you grow upt.
