In the offseason, many people, including myself were worried about wide receiver play.

Last year, our BEST wide receiver Thornton finished ranked 139th nationally based on yardage

Currently, we have the 6th (Brazzell), 20th (Staley), and 39th (Matthews) guys nationally.

What a massive improvement! Brazzell has already eclipsed what Thornton did last year with four fewer games. This is one special group.

Yeah credit that to great QB play and WRs that can actually get separation and remain on their feet after catching the ball.

It's amazing what can happen when you have a QB that hits receivers in stride. Also they were never all healthy at the same time last year. One or more were always hurt or nicked up. Hopefully these guys stay healthy and can stay on the field. They need to get R. Jack and Davis more playing time to give guys a break.

We have Radarius Jackson and Travis Smith waiting in the wings and not only add Keys but also #3 Ath Salesi Moa and Legend Bey. We are stacked for several years.

This will probably never be a thing again (at least that we can genuinely believe with conviction) with the portal and new world order of CFB.

Yeah, Even when we did have separation last year, the ball was overthrown.

early on, Joey had a tendency to underthrow it a little bit and let wide receivers Make plays. Now, he's hitting them in stride. He is quite the adaptable player.

Brazzell is in the conversation for WR1. Mathews is finally getting into a groove and getting hands on the ball. Staley has been a huge surprise coming in as the young buck, and proving he belongs.

Like most folks, I have to apologize to Pope for the offseason tongue lashing I was giving him here.

Amazing how good Matthew’s is when he actually catches the ball! I think he is gone to portal and Brazell heads to NFL. Having a healthy Ethan at TE is huge with the drops Kitz has experienced. Without the drops and stupid offensive PI calls, you could add about 300 yards and 3 or 4 touchdowns to their production. A lot of the mishaps resulted in drive killers and Kitzelman has led to three interceptions I believe.

Why would Matthews go to the portal? GBO

I thought Travis Smith was going to be an impact player based on media reviews on him in practice.
True Freshmen rarely are. Especially at UT. Aside from Kelley Washington, who was like 21 or 22 and had played pro baseball for years, I don’t think we have ever had a true freshman go for 600 yards.
