Coach Kelly...............

Most ND fans wanted Kelly gone and he was very close to being on the hot seat there. LSU hired him and this bought him time for a few more years. It was a disasterous hire for LSU from the start. Kelly is a fraud, just a much luckier Butch Jones.
I feel we’ve seen the last of Brian Kelly coaching anywhere.

He’s older and unpopular. There’s more but I’ll leave it there.

With the number of P4 openings that are going to be out there this year-somebody will pick him up.

Whoever loses out on the Lane sweepstakes is going to have to start working the phone lines quickly

Saw this on Twitter earlier and got a chuckle Possible candidate for the LSU job-Ed Powers. Ed Po. Coach Po

One donor is writing the $54 million check.

AD Scott Woodward is the same guy that hired and fired Jimbo at AM....it's a conspiracy.

How many programs does this BELOW avg Coach take down???
It is amazing how he gets these jobs??

He's averaging 10 wins per year since 2017 (not including this year obviously). He certainly is not a below average coach.

He isn't an elite coach. But he's certainly in the top 15-20 nationally. His .725 winning percentage currently ranks him 11th nationally among active coaches last I checked. And many of the coaches ahead of him have less than 4 years experience, compared to his 20+ years.

This is his first program he’s underperformed at. Do you even watch college football? Lmao.

Anyone calling his time at Notre Dame a failure doesn’t know ball

Even saying his time at LSU is "under-performing" should come with caveat that he is still averaging 10 wins a season at LSU coming into this season.

He just hasn't been able to elevate his teams from really good to elite. He isn't a great coach, but he's far from a bad coach.

he would be a good hire to stabilize a program. get them in a spot to hire a better coach afterwards.

Ark, UCLA, Fla, V Tech should be excited if they get him.

Yeah. But put him in Fayetteville.... He's likely struggling to win 9 games on average there.

While I think he was in the top 10-15 of coaches in the country, him being in the SEC was just awful combo.

I personally don't think he coaches again.

Agreed. But I think at his age, he goes back up north and finds a school with a solid history of winning but has been down a bit recently. Michigan State makes some sense if they fire Smith as predicted. So does Wisconsin if they fire Fickell. I also like him at Nebraska if Rhule takes the Penn State job.

Anyone is probably gonna struggle to win 9 games in Fayetteville unless they can convince people to pump money into the program. Kiffin would not have the record he does at OM if they weren't investing into NIL at the rate they have been.

The best a school like Arky can hope for is a coach like Mullen who can coach well and win you 7-8 games most seasons, with the occasional upper classmen heavy team that can get you to 10 wins or more.

I actually think Mullen can wait out and be a fallback for some of these bigger than Arkansas jobs. I wouldn't be shocked one day in all this Auburn winds getting him.

I see Wisconsin as a joke. year in and year out they get elevated to a top 10 team in preseason ranking, a lot of times they're in top five. It's a joke ,then they flame out every damn year fire coach every three years ,hire another coach same thing happens.
I would stay the heck away from that job, unless you're just looking for another $40 million dollar buy out in about 4 years

Historically Wisconsin is far from a joke. There is absolutely no reason in the world they should have a competitive football program, yet they did have one from the early 90s until COVID.

Since 2000, they've only been a preseason top 10 team 3 times (2018, 2017, 2007).

It looks like this is the first time he was actually fired.
Grand Valley State - was good before he got there good afterward
Central Michigan -- looks like he made some improvements
Cincinnati - made some improvements
Notre Dame - made some improvements

LSU was expecting better.

Wisconsin is generally a solid program. They have definitely produced some good offensive linemen and running backs over the years. It seems like the winning formula for them has always been a power running game. Any time a coach attempts to modernize the offense it doesn’t go well.

2023, coaches #10, AP #11.
They seem to average firing a coach every 5 years.
