that should be the planDefense may not look better Saturday night, just be prepared for it.
What I think happened at Kentucky and is likely the plan moving forward is "keep scoring and make their offense have to pass"
We make teams 1 dimensional where the DL can focus on pass rushing and we'll see a lot more sacks/turnovers. May still have 30+ and 400 yards hung on us, but no one cares if you're winning 56-34.
At this point the only other SEC team we haven't faced already that is good enough on both sides of the ball to challenge that philosophy is Texas A&M and we won't see them unless some crazy ish happens and we meet in Atlanta.
I don’t think OU’s defense is that good and more of a who they played situation. That said……the game worries me especially if Hood is out.
Football and all sports really are about matchups. Frankly this is bad matchup for Pony Cart U. It will be a shootout and on the road, not good for them, better try to convince Baker Mayfield or Heup to play qb.Everyone worried about OU but they beat a Michigan team that can’t score and played a night game at home.
And it took major cheating to beat Auburn at home. They should have three losses right now. And got dominated by Texas who can’t score either.
We run a similar scheme to Ole Miss with a. Better QB and they couldn’t stop ole miss at home. Good luck with Neyland at night
That's fine. So has every other QB this year. But guess what, Joey and this offense is going to look better and score more points than all three. The defense is what it is. Quit your handwringing and realize we are a better TEAM than all three. Good teams find ways to win, and they make up the difference when one unit struggles. Hell the defense saved the game against Mississippi State when the offense was struggling. We have one of the worst defenses in CFB, and that is not negaVol hyperbole, it is a quantifiable FACT...also a FACT, the worst offense in the SEC just hung 34 and 500 on us.
We can win the game, I agree...but I don't think it's the likely outcome with this defense.
Get ready for us to make Pavia, Lagway and Mateer look like Heisman winners and their recievers and RBs look unguardable and unstoppable.
Which was my point. Texas is probably the second best offense they’ve played. They've given up 300 yards twice all season.
302 to Texas
431 to Ole Miss
They've only given up 20 points twice, 23 to Texas and 34 to Ole Miss... lost both games
Ole Miss is the best offense they've faced all year, and we're statistically a lot better than them.
Now I really must know.LA pretty much told us this.
Not to mention the fact that Mateer has played like dog sh!T since they rushed him back from surgery. 200 yards and less than one touchdown per gameThey've given up 300 yards twice all season.

They are just a better all around team than us...if our defense was at least just average and not the worst in the SEC I would feel differently. We could very well lose all three of these games just because our defense is pure
It is really disheartening to watch this going on...I don't for the life of me understand how they can be THIS putrid...but they are.
If I were an AD at PSU, id take $7-8 per and make the guy tell me no.Everyone has their runs Mcgill which will make the win even sweeter…we’ve been hard on Clark Lea since he took over but I’ll be the first to say he’s done a incredible job bringing them back from where they were..he’s done a better job than Franklin in my opinion..kids have bought in and trusted the process. it’s a beautiful thing to watch that we can relate to over the last 10 gruesome years…just takes time but he’s earned it.he has my respects….with that being said vawls by FIDDY!!
