I'm not sureI’d almost put Kiffin in that boat, too. I don’t think he’s going anywhere. Those that think he’s shopping himself around or will jump at the first offer won’t accept this isn’t the Lane Kiffin of 15 years ago.

There is so many that it is going to ripple to teams that have no thought of firing a coach but who may see their coach picked up by someone else.
This is also going to make the transfer portal wild this year.
I think we are looking at:
James Franklin to FSU
Jon Summeral to LSU
Brian Hartline to PSU but prepare for a recruiting machine of coaches picked from every program, he won't be paid more then 6 million (Franklin got I think about 8.5 which allocates tons of money for a giant tip tier assistant pool) I'm talking Corey Raymond, Larry Johnson, Jeff Hafley, Guerreri I mean you name it he is going to come)
Grubb to Kentucky
Dan Mullen to UCLA
Fran Brown to Auburn
Maybe Arbuckle or Colin Klein over to Ole Miss, kinda hard to gauge as they are definitely looking in the 2nd tier after being a top 5 team at end of season
I think Kiffin might get paid something big and the incentives for his staff to go to UF
Ole Miss will be hard pressed to match as I think UF is dealing with what UT dealt with before Heupel. Constant stream of bad hires and not maximizing potential of some very good players ...
If I’m someone like Oklahoma, who may be thinking about moving on from their coach, I’d wait another year.
I’m mentally preparing for Heupel’s name to get linked to LSU. Maybe not in their top tier list but definitely someone they’ll reach out to
I think it's a given that some ADs or boosters kick the tires on Heupel/his agent. Would be malpractice not to do it. But after Vitello's departure, I think DW knows that keeping Heup, especially during what would be a disastrous year to lose your coach via a poaching (and thus be significantly behind everyone else) is essential for protecting his own job. And that means that he will fight tooth and nail to keep him if it comes to that.Ole Miss will have no problem financially keeping Kiffin.
What scares me most is that these guys like Summeral and other smaller school names start getting tossed around.
Like they’d take the bigger jobs no brainer but they have some unknowns. What’s stopping LSU from going to established coaches first like our very own Heupel or Drink or Key or Campbell.
There is no sane coach would tell LSU no thanks to a call to see if there is interest outside of Day and Kirby and Deboer.
