Bout freaking time!View attachment 785040

Oklahoma was occupied by Comanche, Osage, and others when the white folks came to North America. As the population of Euro-honkies increased, they decided to relocate peoples native to eastern areas to Oklahoma. White folk didn’t want it in the early 19th century, and thought Okie would be a good place in which to funnel native peoples who owned/occupied lands they did want. Then, at the end of the 19th century, there was enough pressure from incoming white folks that those in power thought it would be a good idea to give them land Oklahoma. Some lands were easy to give away to white settlers. Others had to be gotten through trickery and murder. It’s not the proudest bit of US history, but it is ours. Stole it once. Stole it twice. Land Thieves. This is one I really don’t understand, since our nation was founded on being land thieves. Why is OK singled out?
