South Carolina player just threw the game

by intentionally not tackling the Bama player as he ran toward the end zone to break the tie with :34 left in the game.

Did everyone see that, or was that just me?

I did and no amount of people making excuses that SC needed the ball back. No announcers are touching it while watching the replay. Maybe let him go if you’re down by 1 Pt, but not tied. Clock would have stopped with the tackle out of bounds anyway. If time was an issue they’d let Bama score with a minute to go.

Saying he “threw the game” is one of the most uneducated takes to a strategy of USC letting them score so their offense can have a chance to tie instead of leaving it up to a blocked kick.

I’m sure people will be saying that player was betting on Bama

Yeah and all of the terrible officiating is just accidental. Guys, money involved in gambling means cheating is a great possibility. Not just the NBA
If you believe that was strategy, I totally understand why scammers are so prevalent.

Bama had two timeouts. They could’ve played it however they wanted to.

You think the DB was let them score because of gambling and not letting the offense get the ball back to try to tie it up? Lol

It was a smart play. If bama player gets tackled or goes out of bounds they run clock down and kick FG. At least now SC has time to try and tie
It was not smart.
It’s bad logic and bad coaching.

Not the players fault.
You make the defense bow up and get a stop, or make them kick and maybe they miss.

You don’t GIVE them points with such a limited amount of time left.

They literally GAVE THEM THE GAME

No. They gave themselves a chance.

You don't have to agree with the logic of what they did. But they absolutely let him score on purpose so they could get the ball back.

The logic was probably, if they get the first down, just let them take it in for a TD so you still have a shot on offense.

The smart play would be to make them try a FG. I don't understand why everyone now thinks that kicking a FG is automatic. It's not. I would say a shanked kick would have been 10 maybe 15 percent chance. Letting them score made it a zero percent chance.

That’s some crazy math and mental gymnastics. I guess kicking the fg with no time left was the play. 🤣

Or run more time off the clock and run in for the td. If only USCjr had viable options.

They literally gave themselves the only chance they had.

No they wouldn't. Bama didn't have the first down a minute earlier.

Guess you forgot about the Georgia game already. FGs are NOT automatic. SC still had a chance until that last score.

What are you talking about? There’s no scenario where bama didn’t control the clock if he had been tackled. They could’ve still scored a td with no time left. They could’ve let it run down to the last play and then attempt a fg. There was no scenario where USCjr was going to be left with any time unless bama scored. None. Zero. They controlled every aspect of the clock.

Dang! Well let me just say if SC had forced a FG attempt then:

Bama could miss the kick - result is OT

SC could block the kick - result is probably OT with a small chance of a SC miracle victory.

Let Bama score - result NO CHANCE TO WIN

I know what I would do. It's a no brainer.

Bama’s kicker hasn’t missed inside of 40 yards this season including 30-30 on XPs

It is a no brainer but not the way you’re thinking. You let bama score you have a minute to at least try and score. You let them run the clock out and kick a last second fg you have ZERO chance to score. So yea it is a no brainer. It’s pretty simple. Not sure what you can’t comprehend.
