Would you be pulling for both Vandy and Memphis to advance in the playoffs following their outstanding seasons?

The Vols are still alive in the discussion of course but if the missed field goal vs. Georgia knocks Tennessee out of the playoffs - would you then be a temporary fan of in-state cousins, Vanderbilt and/or Memphis to have a historic season?

I believe a few won't but the majority of Tennessee Vol fans will.

I am shocked by these replies. I said "In the spirit of good sportsmanship..." I can't support Lane Kiffin but Clark Lea and Vandy I would. Memphis I actually have no idea of players or coaches.

I understand the responses if Vanderbilt were to win a National Championship in football, it would seem blasphemous. Vandy plays at Texas next and could knock them out of the field. Easy rest of schedule with Auburn, KY and the defenseless Vols.

Sir, are you clueless?

Why would we cheer for Vanderbilt for anything EVER?

Obvious NO.

First of all neither of those teams are making the playoffs

Memphis would have to beat Tulane, Navy and one of them again and that's not happening

2nd no they both are sh*t stains on our state and I revel in their misery and helplessness

NO! But between the two, I’d rather see Memphis make it to the playoffs.

Good grief, root for Memphis? Are you high? Put the pipe down.

I mean seriously.

Do Auburn fans root for Alabama? Do Alabama fans root for Auburn?

Do Kentucky fans root for Louisville? Do Louisville fans root for Kentucky?

Do Michigan fans root for Michigan State? Do Michigan State fans root for Michigan?

Let me answer all of these questions at once - NO.

And you misunderstand what being a Vol fan is, if you are willing to support Vandy. I don't mind seeing Vandy beat Bama - because well I don't mind seeing anyone beat Bama - but to support them - just no.

The majority of Vols fans would hope those teams were blown off the field in the first game.

If Clark Lea coached anywhere but the SEC, ND, Mich, OSU, Miami, or Clemson, then I would support him. His teams play disciplined football and he gets the most out of the talent he has.

Only if they are playing someone I like even less. It's more likely that I would be doing something else rather than watching V or M play football.
