Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

The more I think about it, I guess I doubt it too. I said that because they would have more impressive wins than us. But then they would be sitting with a worse loss than us too. Maybe it would come down to style points, who knows

Don’t even think they’d have more impressive wins.

In this scenario we win out so our best win is likely Vandy. Theirs would be LSU. Vandy is better than LSU. All the other Ws are kinda the same bc we both would’ve beaten OU

Maybe Banks needs to go, maybe not. Seems like the DL is doing just fine. The Secondary has been banged up all season long. Linebackers have been okay, Telander looked good last night. Arion Carter was held out. Lotsa variables, but no doubt, we are something like 105th ranked in scoring defense.

Yeah I was holding out hope we would get better as we go, since we were relying on so much youth. But we haven’t. Something just isn’t working, and I think a new coach this offseason would help.

We are very athletic - that’s the only reason we aren’t having a 2012-esque season. That defense didn’t know what they were doing and they were unathletic.

I feel good about this Oklahoma game. Dark mode for our only night game so it's gonna be an environment which the sooners have not seen yet. Offense will feed off the crowd and I think the defense will do just enough for us to win

Despite all my concerns on defense I tend to agree - I think we find a way Saturday. The environment should be electric!

Oklahomas two true road games this year have been temple and South Carolina at noon. Carolina has a great environment later in the day, but at noon that place is pretty mid (speaking from experience). They're getting ready to come into an absolute mad house. I'm starting to convince myself we're gonna smoke these guys

Vandy would have lost yesterday if Mizzou didn’t go down to their third string QB. Candy isn’t beating us. I’m more worried about OU.
Vandy is one dimensional. It just sucks because that one dimension, Pavia, is really damn good. But if you can contain him, they’re very beatable in every other category. Plus it’s at home. I’m with you, I’m more concerned about OU and UF than I am Vandy—UF worrying me the most due to it being in Gainesville.

I believe we will score enough to win. The only legit Offense Oklahoma has played this year so far has been Ole Miss and we saw that result. Hopefully, get a few stops and win going away

SEC has a possible chance of getting 5 teams in...

As of right now.

3 Big Ten- Ohio State, Indiana and Oregon
1 Big 12 - Texas Tech or BYU with Cincinnati as a sleeper team
1 or possible 2 ACC teams. Georgia Tech or Miami. Virginia as a sleeper team Has to win ACC Championship.
Yes Notre Dame gets in if they win out and I see no resistance for them on rest of their schedule.
G5 team- Memphis has inside track ..

SEC- Texas A&M , Alabama, Georgia probably in. Mississippi and Tennessee both could get in if they win out but a few things can't happen.

1.Hope and pray Michigan doesn't win Big Ten Championship. Very possible they play Ohio State at home, then could possibly beat Indiana in Big Ten Championship game.
2. Dont want Georgia Tech to win ACC Championship vs a 1 loss Miami team. A 2 loss Miami team has 3 really good wins Notre Dame. South Florida and Florida.. Good chance a 2 loss Hurricane team gets a bid.

Best case scenario for Tennessee is win out and Mississippi losses and not worry about any of these other situations.

Jmo.
Highly unlikely sec gets 5 teams in imo. ACC and Big 12 both look like they could get 2 in.

Really needed byu to beat Texas tech, and not by a field goal in OT.

Really need an acc team to knock itself out. Doubt that’s miami. Can GT lose to both Pitt and uga? I don’t think a uga loss and loss to miami in championship would knock them out, or at least I wouldn’t want to depend on the committee dropping them over that. 1 loss to a top 10 team and a championship loss to a top 10 team. They don’t want to penalize teams for competing in conference championship games.

In my opinion, LSU is a top three job in the country. The state is full of talent, and there’s no other P4 program competing for recruits. It’s also in a great location to reach talent in nearby states. Everyone in Louisiana supports LSU, and the school is willing to spend money to win. I mean, even Orgeron won a national title there.
I actually like Louisiana too, if it weren't for the dinosaur sized flying coackroaches. . . or as the eloquently call them in South Carolina, "Palmetto Bugs", 😂

It's a travesty of justice that I'm going to have to watch the Titans vs Colts game today on CBS, instead of my beloved Cowboys vs Broncos...I hate this local team ****...

If Vandy beats Texas and they finish 10-2 then they are in. They are currently ranked 10th and just got another ranked win.
