Can someone seriously explain why Teelander should start over Spillman? Has Spillman been injured? I don’t keep up with it as close as many of you all. He is clearly better than Teelander.

Because Teelanders dad was on staff with Andy Reid in the 80s at Missouri and Teelander is a throwback guy who wears a fullback face mask. Apparently last night’s announcers think this creates a transitive scenario where he’s an SEC linebacker.

My only guess is Telander is the glue guy and emotional leader out there. Perhaps he knows the playbook better than Spillman currently.

But you’re right. Spillman is a much better player and has a bright future ahead of him. He also has a great story about his journey to Knoxville.

Spillman/Perlotte and Harman would be a nice 3 next year along with the 3 freshman. Not sure what the situation is with Burns.

Agree...the young guys on defense (Spillman, Farooq, Perlotte, Redmond, etc) despite their painful learning curves have had some flashes of real playmaking ability...They will definitely get better
