What's odd is Whites claim about him wanting Elander to focus on the interview process and a blink of the eye later, he's named head coach. Not complaining mind you, but it does make me question White's veracity and trustworthiness....or maybe he had a tepid response to his initial calls to the guys "on his list"?

White Danny's first call regarding the head football coach position when he got here was to James Franklin and Franklin politely said thanks but no thanks and White Danny heard that with some regularity until he reached out to his former employee Josh Heupel and presented plenty of dollars and contingencies to get him from Orlando to Knoxville.

In my opinion, White Danny pays attention to things that make White Danny look good, Tony Vittelo made Tennessee baseball and Tony Vittelo look good, not White Danny. While most schools in the SEC peg their baseball program 4th on the revenue share spectrum behind football, men's basketball, women's basketball and then baseball, White Danny could have reworked the framework and put women's basketball on the baseball grid once they accomplished something that would merit that position, as the house that Pat built is still here, but the underlying game, the focus and the priorities are completely different now.

He doesn't have to be rock star like Tony V, just keep the train on the track, win a bunch of games, represent the University well and be a good father to those 3 girls. That's all I want from Coach E

He said in a response to Jon Reed on Twitter that he was implying it was a mutual decision between DW and Schnall to not move forward.

Schnall would have been weird. Yeah he took over for a legend and got to Omaha in year 1 but Elander had a better resume 10 months ago when you consider Schnall never was a HC before.

I believe that is what KR was implying. I dont agree with that opinion, at all.

You can thank Larry Pratt, Chris Burke, and a few others, including the associate athletic Director for making this happen. Granted, Danny was open to it. As you heard in Danny‘s press conference, he has a chain of command. If nothing else he is faithful to that. I think there is some quick organization to get an interview outside the program over and done with quick so they could get E in the door. Once the associate AD laid it out to Danny that Elander personality Wise was going to be the fit. done deal
