Very true. E is much more low key and probably low maintenance compared to V, but there still had to be some semblance of a positive “I got your back” relationship between head coach and AD. As a high school head coach, if I rarely had any communication with my AD it would make me feel incredibly isolated. I know HS and college are very different. My point is I just hope DW and E can have frequent productive communication through the years and maintain a healthy relationship. I want Josh to last and be our HC for a long time. Sorry for the rant. Moving forward full speed ahead 😄 Go Vols! #letjoshrun

I think its too soon to say what he'll be like as a head coach. Just cause things have been one way with a guy doesn't mean they'll continue to be that way. Different role with a different level of attention and scrutiny and an opportunity to change the way he has interacted with the community compared to his tenure as assoc. hc.

He doesn't have to be rock star like Tony V, just keep the train on the track, win a bunch of games, represent the University well and be a good father to those 3 girls. That's all I want from Coach E

I don’t think it can be seen as a negative how he interacts with people. Everybody has a different personality. Some are very outgoing and others reserved. I think the important part is how he builds relationships with recruits, players, coaches, and the fans. I think he knows this, but he does not have to be Tony to be loved. And a different attribute that he will have than Tony will be how he interacts with his wife and his beautiful kids.
For our family we have a different bond with him and his family than Tony. His older daughter always finds Kirby and wants to hang out with him at practice. Kirby‘s girlfriend babysits them.

I`m glad Josh will be the next Top Dog for Tennessee Baseball. But just because ex-players wanted him does not mean he will be successful. I pray he will be but only time will tell if he was the right choice.
