Was thinking similar with those FG’s during the Fulmer era against Spurrier and Florida. Felt like we were accomplishing something only to have them score two TD’s and nullify the FG’s.

It was a 5 point game again because Kiffin went for 2 and didn’t get it.

Once again, Venables chased points acting like this was gonna come down to a kicking contest and now he’s down 8 with 3 minutes and has no chance to win the game with this drive. Can only tie at best and his defense has to win the game.

This is not rocket science.

You’re intentionally misunderstanding. It was a 5 point game. Oklahoma scored and was up 1. They went for 2 and didn’t get it.

That’s put Ole Ms down 1, they scored and went up 5 again. Then went for 2 and didn’t get it.

That’s literally the same scenario. You’re claiming it was bad to do then, but that he has to now.

Why?

Chasing points in the 3rd quarter is why it was idiotic decision and ensured they were going to be forced to go for 2 eventually again.

This game shouldn’t come down to OU needing to go for 2 but they are forced to because of that brain dead decision by Venables in the 3rd quarter.

If you think chasing points in the 3rd quarter in a game where offenses are scoring touchdowns, you simply are not a smart nor serious person.
