It was more than that. Burke was on multiple shows within an hour of Tony’s announcement. There was a large volume of input from former players, alums, and donors. I even heard that Tony’s delay had something to do with it.Danny White saw very early that fighting the fan base on this hire/search was going to be dumb.
Additionally once he said he was having the players vote on a council to be involved, it was a done deal.
Not sure your point here. What did we hear? Tension between Tony and Danny. Don’t agree, take it up with Chris Low. The press conference was pretty telling as Danny opens with trying to address the caustic noise circulating. That's not what we've all heard the past week. One of the dumbest things a AD could do was let TV walk. Too many conclusions jumped to before most of the truth came out. VOLS are pretty well coached in all sports at the highest level of competition.
This won’t be a thing with E. Much different guy. I’ve given up trying to explain. People don’t get Tony. Elander will not be a media magnet. He won’t be catching passes on the sideline of a football game and acting like he intercepted a pass. He likely won’t be popping up on local radio shows and going off script for 45 minutes.First off, SO pumped it’s Coach E! I’m actually looking forward to staying obsessed with our program + keeping up with and rooting for the Giants! BUT… There’s way too much smoke from the D1 guys (Chris Burke) and others to not think that Tony and Danny’s relationship didn’t play a huge factor in Tony leaving. Danny’s presser proved that there’s a lack of communication there. I’m not going to bash Danny at all. That’s just a part of Danny that will have to improve - becoming a better overall leader for ALL programs, not just a few. No matter the feelings.
