So much unnecessary gnashing of teeth in here... I’ve got receipts, but I’ll have mercy.

Likely the push back Danny got and the potential fallout if E was hired. I heard it was the associate AD that made the case. Let’s not forget, Chris Burke was on multiple programs within an hour and advocating Elander. He’s kind of a big voice in college ball, no. What Chris Low reported was 100% true.

The difference is the things that ground on DW regarding Tony, won’t be an issue with E.
Elander is not a spotlight guy.

I saw Elander trending on Twitter yesterdy so I clicked on it to see why and it was post after post from ex-Tennessee baseball players calling for Elander to be head coach. They got our guy trending.

Based on talks with a player’s father, Elander did a lot of the heavy lifting on the recruiting trail. I think his success will depend on keeping the recruiting classes committed and getting a few more years with Frank.

Soooooooo when he hired CJH, he was vilified initially until CJH started winning. CTV leaves for "greener?" pastures, and he's vilified yet again. Hires CJE, and is given a little reprieve. Then there's the whole Lady Vols thingy....

Danny listened and made the right choice. Even if Elander doesn’t get us back to TV’s level of success, it was still the best for the team and fanbase. Very excited as we can all agree this was the move and get full buy in from the fans.

That's not what we've all heard the past week. One of the dumbest things a AD could do was let TV walk. Too many conclusions jumped to before most of the truth came out. VOLS are pretty well coached in all sports at the highest level of competition.

Inevitable, and clearly the right choice. He has the respect of the players, and hopefully this minimizes and transfers.

Only move. Benefit was that Elander is a great coach in his own right. DW already self inflicted bad optics. Had a terrible presser that didn’t help. Would have lost TV, JE, and a host of recruits. It was his only decision available to smooth it all over and give JE the opportunity. JE had earned the right and had the support in the ranks to roll with it.

1. Elander got the Tennessee head coach job.

2. Now the FF people can go back to their thread and get ready to piss and moan about Football game tonight....

Those guys act like we should write DW a thank you for Tony V leaving and him making the only decision he could really make on a new HC.

Buncha noobs pissed at the regulars for having an opinion.

I suspect they are simply glad their wives won’t be pining for our coach all spring long.

I am excited about Elander!
