Well if VT loses this game now its on them. They have 350+ rushing yards and after Cal scored at TD in OT, Vtech ran twice and scored as well. 25yds in 2 plays. They could have gone for 2 then and won this damn game with their big 250lb QB keeping it...he has about 150 rushing yards and 4 total TDs. Instead they kicked the PAT to go to 2nd OT wherein they get the ball 1st which is undesirable. Checkensheit move by VT coaches. Hope they hang on to win this thing but if they dont its their own fault

Edit: VT pulled out the win to upset Justin Wilcox and Cal...by 8pts. Never saw former VOL RB Seldon in the entire game. He may have played but he didnt do much IMO for VT

Im not saying TV was a figurehead, it seemed like the team actually took on his persona at times and he is a great coach. From what I can gather from the Bball fans that know more about it than I do, Elander wasnt just the Vols hitting coach for all our prolific offenses, he was in charge of pretty much everything but pitching and was the the guy actually running most things day to day due to all the BS stuff Tony had to do outside the team and with media, the AD etc. Also, unlike with any outsider getting the job its almost certain we keep our pitching coach which is one of the best in the country and has put so many guys in MLB. Apparently Elander was primary recruiter as well. Lots of former and current players immediately made S.M. posts or statements backing Elander as soon as TV announced he was leaving. It looks like promoting from within will keep the staff , the team, and the #1 ranked class this year all intact.

Seems like a no lose situation for UT honestly...best case is Elander keeps doing what he's always done and we win a lot. Worst case is he struggles and Danny brings in another bigtime coach to what is now a top3 program nationally.

Hope this is accurate, this is what I gathered from reading a lot this week. If Hog or some of the other baseball diehards here see something wrong please correct me.

How dare you forget about my Panthers?

We traded our 1st and 2nd rounders, plus a 1st and i think a 3rd rounder the NEXT year....to move up from the 9th overall pick to 1st overall...to make sure we drafted a Bama QB thats smaller than me to this day. 5ft11in and 170lbs. Its worked out about as well as you would expect. Havent won more than 5 games in a 17game season since.

Whats really crazy is the Panthers actually have a winning record of 4-3...until tomorrow when Buffalo blows us out. The team is just as surprised as everyone else. Not to worry...a 6-11 record is headed our way.
