Either Oklahoma or Vanderbilt would be ideal.

The dude transcended Vol baseball and should be recognized for his accomplishments in front of a Neyland Stadium sized crowd. Show him and everyone else how much Vol Nation as a whole appreciates what he and his teams achieved and the entertainment they provided during his tenure.

Plus, I don’t care where he manages now—he’s one of us.

i sure hope y’all stop worshipping this dude.
He built our baseball program from literally nothing, and won what will most likely be the only championship our baseball program will ever win.

Recognizing that isn’t “worshipping”. He deserves to be honored for what he achieved here.

he did a great job but publicly celebrating a coach who quit for another job is weird. after he retires i could see it. he was honored when Danny made him the highest paid baseball coach in the country

Right!

Feels like honoring Coach Dickey in the 70's after he left us for the Florida job.

We can honor the whole team at the 5 year anniversary party. Besides, I was the one in Omaha shouting the instructions to CTV. He knows it's true.

He didn’t quit, he was hired to manage a Major League Baseball team for goodness sakes. The first college coach EVER to achieve such status.

Some of you are absolute morons—and that’s being polite. You don’t even consider the publicity from doing such a classy thing or what it says to other coaches that someday may consider coaching a sport at Tennessee.

Totally not the same. The same would have been leaving UT for Vanderbilt or maybe Alabama or LSU.

If he had quit to go to Mizzou, Arky, Florida, etc., then yeah, I'm with you, no thanks to him. But the guy loves Tennessee, he left for the pinnacle of baseball coaching, and he was torn even then. Sorry, he did a lot for the Vols, including the new stadium renovations. He deserves a send off.

If he didn't quit then he'll be managing the Vols in the Spring. Face it, he quit, for an exceptional opportunity. A nice send off would be a good thing.

It would be nice, but won't happen.
The new coach will be run out at a Basketball game sometime.

In a few years, closer to the end of his career, Tennessee will raise a statue or name a part of the Baseball complex or something for Coach TV, and he deserves that and much more for what he did for not only Baseball, but the university overall.
