Yeah would be like changing jobs for better salary and lot more prestige. Only thing moving away from all your close friends and family. What he can possibly accomplish may never happen again. Think DW will get the right coachI agree. I said it would be like Peyton staying for his senior year, I didn't say TV should have stayed. Just if he did it would be on the Peyton staying level decision and the reaction would have been similar. People do not make those kind of choices very often.
You are omitting the most significant offense change— major QB upgrade. Plus Moe, Pendleton and Perry/Sanders are better than the ones they replaced. That doesn’t make any sense to me.
Offense lost:
Starting QB
4 starting OL
All SEC RB
2 of 3 starting WRs
Defense lost:
3 starting DL
1 starting DB
DL had a ton of players that played last year returning though. And our starting corners are injured but we replaced one with a first rounder.
Really no excuse for how bad they are. I could understand dropping from top five to top 25, but not top 90.
I think a big reason for the offense is a change in philosophy and the coaches took it personal. I don’t think banks has ever self assessed or changed his defense.
So me and the wife are taking our daughter on a guided tour of UT by the admissions office this weekend. We're all excited about that. My daughter also told me that she didn't even realize that she had also been invited to tour the campus of the university of Florida as well. I asked why she didn't know about the Florida invite and she said that her email automatically threw it in her spam folder lol. Even Sally knows Florida is nothing but spam.![]()
Appreciate the honest take. I’ll say this, I can already tell the discussion has moved in a direction that I feel is closer to reality.I like @InVOLuntary and @Jimmy Football, but this would be my response, too. I would also add that Tony's program didn't stand alone as it was part of a greater athletic department. Sometimes, you have to be a team player with other sports. Whatever resources Tony did have, he was killing it. But people always want more.
I was happy to see Tony's statement- made me feel better about the situation.

Im just curious as to how many drives the defense has allowed to get into the red zone? Our red zone defense this season---
Over 81% of red zone drives result in a touchdown against us... let that sink in... we can't stop anyone...
That ranks us #135 out of #136 teams in the country... Again, let that sink in... Only team worse than us is Charlotte.
I don't care if McCoy and Gibson are out, that is PATHETIC and EMBARRASSING...
Yet move along, nothing to see here, Banks is fine... Heck, we've seen coordinator's get fired midseason for quite a bit less...
Anyone still defending Banks, well, like Ron White says, "you can't fix stupid"...
Defense lost more than just those 4 and we play 2 deep more on that side so depth pieces are big losses.
