Tony V speaks after decision to leave

Someone needs to tell DW to get off his ass and make this right. Tony wants to be here . Do whatever it takes to make him feel wanted and bring him back today. It’s an absolute shame that it even got to this point.
Stupid take is stupid. He was the highest paid coach in the country, he got more money for his assistants, & built him a new stadium. TV had an opportunity to do something very few people have ever get. Quit acting like a spoiled entitled brat. Get over it

Exactly Tony is gone we need to move on and support the next coach. Tony didn't close the door on returning someday so who knows maybe we are reunitied sometime in the future.

Let’s say Tony does fail at the next level, do we do everything to bring him back or do we keep who we have at the time and tell TV to kick rocks.

Don’t see Danny going down the route if it happens. Be curious to see how the fans react, IF that were to happen. The heat he’s getting to hire Elander, imagine the heat to hire Tony back in a few years.

You mean like the heat the ADs have all had to....and dare I say it?

Bring

Back

Bruce

That was loud and deafening for a number of years.

It's funny some believe CTV will not succeed at San Francisco.. the Giants were a 81-81 team this past season. They have talent and have money to get more through Free Agency.. some act like he took over the Rockies or White Sox.😳
I think some want him to fail, thinking it will bring him back to Knoxville.

It helps Gilbert has been in that locker room and been appreciated by others on the team, no doubt telling story after story about his time at Tennessee. Those guys are already going to know good things about him.

Posey's full-force support will also help Vitello. The guy has Musial-like credibility in San Francisco amongst both players and fans.

It is a great franchise and Vitello has one of their legendary players putting himself on the line for him. It would not surprise me to see him succeed given his abilities.

The man moved on to the opportunity of a lifetime. People trying to put the change on some failure by Danny White are just looking for something - anything - to keep them from having to believe that there could be a better individual choice for a coach than staying in Knoxville.

TV is the first person to never have played major league ball nor even coached at the major league level to be named a MLB manager. There aren't very many of those jobs to begin with, and to get one without "rising through the ranks" is absolutely amazing. It shows either 1) how amazing he really is or 2) how stupid MLB is for doing this. I think it's the first, but time will tell.

As far as not selling his house, he's less than a week into having made the decision. With his level of income, he needs a place to park his money and real estate is a pretty decent place. I'm not questioning his VFL commitment, but he possibly hasn't made any serious long term decisions. He might have made a short term one to not sell, but that could easily change in the future.

We should be grateful for the time he spent in Knoxville, the accomplishments he had, and the great position he left the program in for the future. It's now up to the next guy to continue and build on the tradition.

Nah, Kentucky is gonna get belt to a**

From your lips to God's ears.

I shouldn't hate Kentucky like I do. We routinely beat them. We beat them enough in basketball to make them go postal.

After the tournament, their biggest torture was in knowing they had to deal with their Tennessee coworker or neighbor after losing the biggest hoops game played between us.

For all the joy and happiness Kentucky provides to a hater like me, I cannot get enough of seeing Tennessee find new and creative ways to crush them like roaches under a shoe.

I enjoyed seeing them lose to Texas. If anything in history defines Kentucky football, then that is it.

Somewhere, Michael Whitehead was smiling as the Kats kept trying to run it up middle on the goal line.

Got to admit, however, they have had a decent baseball program for years now. They aren't an absolute joke on the diamond.

Have you seen his house? The place is perfectly set up for something like an event venue or a wedding video that could make secondary income for Tony, if he chose to go that route.

Danny dollars isn't going to be the AD when (if) Tony V returns to college baseball - he is looking for his dream job which is not TN.

".... maybe I go back to Nashville and become a country singer or something like that. But that’s something that stuck out in my head because obviously I feel like this was a great place for me."

My wife and about 100K other women will pay to watch him sing even if he sucks at it! "Tony, don't sing a word. Just sit there and look pretty for us." My wife had no interest in baseball until CTV.
