I can’t completely agree with you on this one. Yes, she had her struggles last season—especially with fouling—but Latham brings valuable college-level experience. By the end of her freshman year, she earned All-ACC Freshman honors, marking her as one of the top 25 players in the 2023 class. While the incoming freshmen are talented, they haven’t yet faced the grind of high-level college basketball, and at some point, it’s inevitable they’ll hit that “freshman wall.”
For Latham, adapting to a new system, conference, school, and playing style may have contributed to her dip in production. Still, she essentially matched her freshman-year numbers while playing fewer minutes and taking on a smaller role. That consistency speaks volumes. I believe she’ll be a key piece—an X-factor—for this season. As @coachjumper mentioned, she’s been putting in the work all summer, and we’re all hoping it shows once the games begin. If anything, her playing time should increase, and she’ll likely be among the top seven in the rotation.
