Ken Williamson (SEC Official) gone?

Has the SEC made A statement confirming or denying? Their probably too busy looking at this weeks odds and determining the outcome.
Go Vols.🍊
If not true I think you would hear a statement quickly from the SEC…

Or they just wouldn’t comment on it. There’s neither damage control they’d need to do in this case nor potential legal repercussions they’re having to dissuade from being looked into here.

They’re not full time workers for the SEC itself. If I’m not mistaken, the referees the conference uses are all independent contract workers (contracted through companies that contract with schools, I think). Since he’s not an employee of the SEC, firing him is not really something they can do. So instead (if the story reported/originating from Yellowhammernews is actually true) they would be permanently choosing not to hire him to work future SEC games.
I'd be curious to know who those contractors are.

ESPN is reporting it now and gave Yellowhammer credit. The ref in question is now done reffing as he was suppose to retire at the end of this season.

See the pattern..... the SEC assigns UA alumni and Birmingham residents/bama fans to officiate TN games. Alabama fans hate TENNESSEE and TN fans hate alabama. How is it possible for a bama fan to fairly call a TN game? Much less be allowed to officiate a game involving alabama vs auburn or alabama vs TENNESSEE???

There sure is a lot of referees with Alabama ties. With the SEC office in Birmingham, I guess it’s easier recruiting officials there.🤣GBO

Several major outlets are running with it though
You were right. Initially seemed like the typical fan rumor mill stuff.
It is nice to know a crew that had a terrible performance got suspended because as Josh Pate has said we never get any transparency on this stuff. Apparently Williamson was going to retire after the season so I guess he got a head start for his crew’s incompetence… and with the season in the second half of October now, not exactly the most influential.

Jeff Heaser stepped in for Ken Williamson due to Ken's suspension. Out of 8 SEC games Saturday, we got the substitute officiating team. I can't find a tie between Heaser and alabama, other than a pregame hug with their starting QB. Heaser is probably Simpson's godfather. At this point, I wouldn't be shocked if he was.

Permanently suspended, I guess that means he's still on the payroll somewhere where as if it were me or you we would be FIRED! People do get fired, you know, in the real world. Plus we know Auburn got ****** on that TD they refused to call. I'm not an Auburn fan but I hate teams getting screwed because of incompetent, or biased officials. Anyone can make a mistake but that was blatant.
Very blatant, and they even reviewed it, and still missed it. It probably cost Auburn the game.

It’s funny in the ESPN article that they never mention the fact that the ball actually did break the plane. They never mentioned that. ESPN, SEC, and all the Alabama homers have it in for Tennessee. If it’s not obvious you’re blind.

The conference never makes any statement about officiating! “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”!!
They did in the Okla vs Auburn game, on the substituting play that resulted in an Okl td. Sec gave a statement that the call was missed.

The SEC sacrificed this guy to make it look like they’re serious about improving the officiating. They’ll grease his pocket for his trouble and keep the good ‘ole network in tact

Pretty nice to retire at 58 and when u can influence outcomes of the game as an official, retirement might become easier to fund. 🤔
