What's the mm? I want a manual wind and my first has been, in my mind, the moonwatch but havent grabbed it yet. I need no smaller than 41mm..That is a really good place to be. Lots of nice stuff to be had at “accessible” prices.
I’d work up to VC and call it a day.
Only patek I need is my Hamilton Whitford (original “a” model, not the later “b” version.)
It comes with the 770 manual wound movement. So smooth, so accurate. The “American Patek” (as if.)
Devastating. Where, oh where shall the calligrapher go?Maybe it's the fact that Obama didn't blatantly lie about it and then proceed to demolish an entire 100+ year old wing??
Oh no, the Whitford, as with many late 50’s, early 60’s dress watches, was much smaller. What's the mm? I want a manual wind and my first has been, in my mind, the moonwatch but havent grabbed it yet. I need no smaller than 41mm..
I want a black chronograph, thinking moonwatch or tag carerra, I want a green dial, a bronze case, a watch with gold..2 tone is fine, open casebacks. I prefer pilot and divers. I could just buy a bunch or Seikos and call it a day.Oh no, the Whitford, as with many late 50’s, early 60’s dress watches, was much smaller.
You looking sporty? Interested in vintage at all, or just new? Do you want waterproof?
Moonwatch is a classic, but they have tripled in price, if not 4x, in the last decade. I had a chance at 5 for 10k (total) 10 years ago, a special edition. I passed. They sell at 12k each now. I’m an idiot.
I think I probably know of who you envision. They aren’t in the “everyone else” bucket, and I wouldn’t challenge someone’s placement of them in the “right-wing” bucket.Maybe so. Maybe it doesn’t matter numerically, but I’m also not sure I agree with how you defined “right wing” or who falls into it.
One of the ways that I think the presence of “everyone else” exacerbates rather than resolves the echo chamber effect is that I think it creates a bunch of fake independents.
Gallup says Trump’s approval rating is around 30% with independents and sub 40% with US adults. Both of those numbers have declined from close to 50% in January. It’s just one pollster, but the decline is pretty consistent with the last time I looked at RCP or Nate Silver.
Look around here at how many of the right leaning “independents” have changed stripes and it’s not 2/5. Not 1/5. I doubt it’s more than 1/20 that have gone from agnostic or approve to disapprove. Honestly, there are probably more who at least appear to have gone the other way.
A lot of potential explanations for that, but I think a big chunk of it is that there is a self-perceived uptick in credibility for partisans who claim to be non-partisan and there’s no reputational harm stemming from just being bad at the schtick.

We're the cool kids though, right?I think I probably know of who you envision. They aren’t in the “everyone else” bucket, and I wouldn’t challenge someone’s placement of them in the “right-wing” bucket.
Across almost every topic that comes up, I see myself reflected most closely in Mojo & VolFanHill, though I’m not sure what others would perceive us (me) as.
We’re certainly not Dink/Septic/Huff, but nor are we McDad/Hog/Slice.

I strongly disapprove of most of what Trump does, but that goes back to the first time around when we (I) were originally railing against his reindeer game tariffs in the Wall Street thread.
So I guess I haven’t really moved much - I still loathe Trump, and the majority of the Democrats. I dislike MTG as much as Omar.
But I still maintain there are more straight up Dems/Progressives/Liberals than people realize - they just aren’t seen as vividly as the other end. Maybe that’s an effect.
Buuurrrrrnnn! @McDadIf this were a high school cafeteria, you'd be brown bagging at your own table.
It's ok though.
If someone wants to get worked up about something, ask yourself how Trump is already breaking ground on The White House Ballroom yet most in The Pacific Palisades and Altadena still haven't gotten a permit to rebuild their houses from a fire that began before Trump took office and ended shortly after. As of this week, 11,000 homes destroyed and 1300 permits issued for rebuild. Exposes the difficulty of building something in a deep blue state(Newsom) versus building something with a Republican in charge(Trump). It’s a dumb thing to get worked up about. The White House has been through many changes over the years.
