Vols -9.5 vs. Kentucky in Lexington

We don't lose to Kentucky. The 3 times we've lost in my lifetime were 3 of the worst Tennessee teams we've had and 2 of them Kentucky still barely won and the one they didn't was the weird Covid year that I almost don't count.

Stoops' best 2 teams couldn't beat Tennessee and both years Tennessee wasn't very good.

We're going to win Saturday, it's just a matter of how badly we beat them.

I think we rebound in a big way and come in pissed off.

Even with it being a night road game that we have struggled with historically.
This team and this staff don't have the competitive character to come into a game "pissed off." As a whole, they do not have that extra gear and the will to dominate. They do not "carry the fight" to the other team.

Kentucky has played us close 3 out of the 4 years Heupel has been here, and every trip to Lexington. I wouldn't touch that line with a ten foot pole; if I did, it would be to bet on UK to cover.

I'm going to say Tennessee covers the spread at -9.5, but I would stay away from the over/under at 54 points.
We win something like 24 to 14.

Take Ky and buy to +10. Heupel has one of these every year and think it could be this one. A trap game between Alabama and Oklahoma.

Too high, too low, or about right? I don't bet, but my prediction is that Vols win but Kentucky covers.
If I bet, I’d bet on Tennessee covering. Kentucky as usual with Stoops is not an explosive offense and is good for a couple of WTF moments each game to derail drives.
They outgained the Shorthorns by like 200 yards yet still lost because they could not punch it in at the goal line. Thing is Stoops actually played to win instead of his usual playing scared but they could not block the Texas defensive front once they got close to the end zone. I at least respect him actually having some guys for a change but the talent difference kicked in there.

Heupel owns Stoops so even if the Cats somehow cover they ain’t winning. Stoops just struggles so much against us and against good teams. To add to that, I think we are gonna be angry about the Bama game and take that out on the Cats!

Cats can't score TDs. They put up 20 pts AT BEST. Will give up 28 easy, 35 likely. Perimeter tackling and back-end communication have been a defensive weakness all season. Heupel exploits that every year.

It's a feel-good win for the Vols.

Edit to add; UK S#i^'s the bed every time we play UT anyway. It's almost always our worst performance of the year, regardless of the season.

So what you're saying is we are to you what Florida is to us...HAHAHA

In the past, I would say that we'd either beat Kentucky by very little, or dare I say, even lose since they always play us tough in Lexington. However, this is NOT a very good Wildcats team we're facing. And I think that we will come into this game with a chip on our shoulder and come out of there with a huge win.

UT: 35 UK: 14

KY should’ve beaten TX, just couldn’t score when it counted. We’re a pretty good team, but with that performance at Alabama…Idk. Hope this team has its head on straight.

We usually beat them in Lexington

Will we be able to wrap up and tackle? How will our pursuit angles be? Which receiver steps up and stays focused all the way through a catch? Does our pass rush get home or disrupt the passer? Stay tuned for this week's episode of TN Vols keys to victory show.

If they don't come out pissed off and catch every ball thrown their way, make every tackle they should, and quit with the sloppy penalties then I think we just are what we are this season. Lot of games left to be played but we could still make some noise on the back end of this schedule. I will say I'm not too optimistic with the way we've consistently made the same errors this season.
If you’ll go back to Bamas last TD in the 3rd, watch the DB as the runner gets to the goal line. If you do that, you’ll see why this poster said what he said.
It was straight up garbage. Easily the worst effort of the year candidate

If the pre snap penalties travel with an ineffective defensive game plan this will be a 4th qtr game which is what I'm expecting based on the last few weeks of SEC play. Hoping the Vols get the dub.

This. And what I’ve seen this year once we get up 7-10 Heup will get scared and start playing fulmer ball. We’ve done it every game we lead this year vs any decent team.
